one thing that made Demolition Man more funny was this -

for all it's flaws it was still a lot of fun.
re: Memento - those Nolan's sure love telling stories out of sequence, don't they?

Demolition Man.
It's not as stupid as I thought it would be - it's stupider.

Loved it!!! Why can't they make more smartly written movies like this?
Special thanks go out to Bingowings, who had posted a comment about this film in another thread. Thanks to you, I've found another favorite film. I just love that cast and writing! I'm a huge fan of "The Exorcist III", and I can see lots of similarity in the styles of these two films. So now that I've seen two of his films, I can say with honesty that William Peter Blatty is now officially one of my favorite directors. Wish he would have made more...

John Carpeters Dark Star. If only John Carpenter could still make them as good as this.

I own it, and watch it at least twice a year. Dan O'Bannon is so great in that film!

Planet of the Apes. Again.
Just got back from seeing True Grit. Surprisingly witty. Good action, interesting characters. Of course, this is what you expect from the Coen brothers.
10/10

Good documentary about a very nice guy.

Glad to have turned another bod onto the film.
I hope that the film version of Dimiter should it ever turn up is anywhere near as good because it deserves to be.
It such a shame that the original cut of Legion (which only exists as the highly compromised Exorcist III) seems to have been lost forever as Blatty was never given the chances for his unique narrative style to really shine through.
I wish I could see the stage play and compare it to the novel.

Which would you recommend I see first, Rango or The Adjustment Bureau?
I like westerns a lot but I'm a huge Philip K. Dick fan.
Has anyone seen these yet?

Same here! Or, at least obtain a copy of the adapted script for that production.

Star Wars. Boo-yeah.
Shutter Island
I'm probably one of the few who though it was a little predictable and err...boring!!
Electra Glide In Blue, classic 70s movie.
Over the last week or so I've seen three:
Pulse (original Japanese version): Meh. I wanted to like it and it seemed like it was going to be very cool but instead it left me cold.
Shaun of the Dead: Very enjoyable!
Aah! Zombies!! (also known as Wasting Away): The idea is fantastic - it's a zombie movie told from the viewpoint of the zombies. To them, the world looks normal (and they look normal too) but everyone who isn't a zombie movies at super high speed. And at first they don't know they are zombies. The actual execution was a bit lacking (it's very low budget) but overall I was entertained. And it includes a bit part from the Jump-To-Conclusion guy in Office Space!
Nice, Frink - I just watched Shaun last night with the cast commentary on.
Something I really enjoyed in SotD were the beginning scenes where the world gets slowly zombified and people don't quite catch on right away. It's fun seeing people slump over in the background, catch fleeting shots of someone who is reanimated, hearing references to "drunks" or "drug addicts," and so on.
Faster.

Yes, like I said before, the whole movie almost pushes the zombies to the background. It's a perfect storm of a movie for me.
My wife and I watched "The War of The Stars" by TMBTM. Very enjoyable.
