Where were you in '77?
And I thought my joke was bad.

What you are feeling is shame.

Don’t fix typos. Either they’re already frozen in time via quoting, or if not then you screw up the following conversation. Just let it bleed!
There’s something to be said for a ruthless dedication to accuracy.

I could learn a lot from this guy’s conciseness!
Anyway…
“Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later” (1998)
That’s a fine mouthful of a mess of a title but this lean, back-to-basics movie is a cracker (especially when compared to the previous two entries). I loved every minute and the face-off at the end was stupendously cathartic. I reckon it’s the second best in the series.
4 Chardonnay refills out of 5.
“Halloween Resurrection” (2002)
Oh, for crying out loud.
0 out 5.

I’ll allow it.

Not in this case.

It’s too bad the producers were plotting on undercutting the ending of H20 even as it was being shot. Jamie Lee Curtis was a good sport to come back for Resurrection, but Laurie deserved a better ending. I prefer to believe she survived her fall and was nursed back to health by a family of raccoons. 😉

Really? They had in mind all along that it wasn’t him behind the mask? I don’t know whether that makes me feel better or worse about it!
As far as I’m concerned the entire series ends with Laurie chopping off Michael’s noggin and she lived happily ever after after reuniting with her son and long lost daughter.
Dirty Harry.
Seen it years ago as a kid, dad found some old videos and I watched on VHS, via an ancient scart cable, copy wasnt great, movie was. moral tales may have moved on but Harry is a hero for the ages, liberal or conservative, rebublican or democrat, Harry is the guy with motivation, with justice in mind who will piss on your cornflakes.
5/6 bullets.

That is and was a shame but Jamie Lee Curtis is a sport…no matter what she does…yum
Terminator Genisys (2015)
I’ve put my name on the line as saying none of the sequels are necessary and only the television show is consistently enjoyable. They are all pretty awful but with some nice bits. This was another one.

The Conjuring (2013)
86% on Rotten Tomatoes? 7.5/10 on IMDb?
4/10
Baby Driver
Finally saw it, after so much noise about it in this thread. Protagonist annoyed me, and the plot was way too convenient. But it was lots of fun all the same.
I rate it as good as a quality, grass fed, Oxford comma killing steak.
War for the Planet of the Apes
Oh my God why is it so long? Needed a different cut. Good, but not what I expected, and way too full of no talking, and more plot conveniences.
I rate it as good as ice in my orange juice. (That isn’t something I love)
Ex Machina
Finally saw the whole thing. Ok, I was actually working on some documentation, which necessitated lots of backing up the movie when I realized there was an interesting part. I appreciated some of the slow reveals that keep advancing and modifying the plot.
I liked it, but not as much as I think my friends liked it. 6 out of 10.
The Conjuring (2013)
4/10
It was a movie that is widely regarded to be good, but made after the 90s, and it’s Duracell. What did you expect?
Exactly what happened. Still is funny.
Dunkirk (2017)
I just saw Dunkirk in 70mm. A very different War Movie, which looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s not very plot-heavy, but pretty exciting with an amazing score.
8/10
