I saw Passengers last night. I know some professional writers who thought it was an absolute abortion. I didn’t feel that strongly negative about it, but it wasn’t a good movie either.

Promising but gutless–that would be my grade.

Would you like to discuss the film or the content of the post?

Or do you want to keep up the troll act?

These comic book movies are seriously the dumbest **** ever made.

Haven’t seen it so I can’t.

Yes, it’s shitty and so are you.

Or do you want to keep up the troll act?

Neither troll nor act.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)

Meh. Can’t believe how little I cared about the movie. The problem was with the human cast, which was a big ball of yawn. Nobody stood out and everyone was just uninspired. The apes were pretty good but every time a human was onscreen I felt like I was back on Zion instead of enjoying my time in The Matrix.

5/10

Arrival (2016)

Hey, a sci-fi movie with actors I enjoyed watching, how about that? What a great movie.

9/10

SPOILER REGARDING AMY ADAMS’ DAUGHTER AND SEEING THIS MOVIE JUST A FEW HOURS AFTER ALDERAAN ACTED LIKE A SHIT

It is always hard for me to watch a story about a parent that has lost his or her child, and this time my wife was right there next to me as we watched. Very emotional, but the real thing that stuck with me was how Louise knew what would happen and still decided to have her daughter even knowing she would die young. Hard to watch, and afterwards I was all like “Alderaan is a shit.”

I completely agree on Arrival Frink! Since I’m still in highschool, I obviously don’t have the parental perspective but that was some great insight 😃

I only talked about the acting and the parental perspective but the whole movie was so good from start to finish. I’m tempted to give it a 10 but I pretty much never do that and I’m sure if I thought about it enough I could think of a few minor nitpicks in order to bring it back down to a 9.

I, personally, never listen to others opinions on movies to see. It defeats the purpose of going to the movies.

I just watched the Extended version of Suicide Squad. My daughter and I had a lot of fun with it. I’d rate it 9/10 as the fun factor alone was worth it.

I respect your opinion, but I can’t think of one moment where I had fun watching that movie. It was excruciating through and through.

I know it’s not a perfect comic book movie and that was how we went in to it. Even Deadpool was fun for us but I try to leave the comics behind when we go see these. It’s less disappointment that way.

Boys Don’t Cry - 8/10

EDIT: Just a warning, the blu ray version of this doesn’t include the pan & scan version of the film, which was released back when the film came out on home video. I think it’s pretty sad that such an important part of the film’s history hasn’t been preserved.

EDIT 2: If anyone is interested I am working on a pan & scan edit of the blu ray. Team MFM - Saving Boys Don’t Cry Pan & Scan Version One Frame at a Time

La La Land - 9.5/10

I guess this is cheating because it’s the third time I’ve seen it. (I rarely see movies 3 times in a theater.) Such a magical film.

Middle School: The Worst Years Of My Life (2016)

Pretty average school movie, I think there were about 5 lines in the entire movie that made me laugh and that was it. Nothing really stuck out as looking unique to me while watching, though that might just be me being biased towards the way older comedies were made/written.

Dr Strangelove (1964)

Lovely.
