It's like you're using English, but have no idea which order to put the words in.
Okay, how about a little bit of rephrasing ...
The Matrix had an interesting premise ... a premise processed through the dumbed-down modern Hollywood filter ... a premise I've seen executed far better in other, more intelligent works (Many of Philip K. Dick's stories come instantly to mind.). Plus, it had Keanu Reeves; virtually every movie he appears in is ruined by his mere presence.
Meesa no think so.

That's slightly less crazy, but still crazy.
The Matrix was a non-studio film that somehow got made in the studio system. It was not dumbed-down at all, rather it escaped being tampered with.
How many Philip K. Dick movies have you seen? The Matrix was not a book.
And Keanu Reeves was good in The Matrix, no matter what you think of his body of work.
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
A Coen movie through and through. Sad and dryly humorous all the way.
A-
Just because The Matrix inspired a lot of dumb modern Hollywood films doesn't mean it is one.

Between all the guns, explosions, overchoreographed fight scenes, cliched "chosen one" blather, and the nonsensical logic/physics behind the machines' use of humans as a power source, it sure fooled me.

Not as many as I'd like. Apparently there aren't enough guns, explosions, and kung fu in any of them to appeal to Hollywood filmmakers' tastes.

Funny. He appears to be the same monotonous automaton here that he is in 100.99% of all his other films.
...
I guess I should mention one thing I found honestly good about The Matrix, though: Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith. His was the best damned character in the entire movie.
The Battle of the Five Armies
I had an opportunity to see it, finally. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though not as much as the last one. The black arrow-shooting thing was a lot less goofy than people made it sound, and the early death of Smaug didn't bother me at all...those who complain about it must not have read the book. The dragon sickness also didn't bother me much, as it was an element in the book, if not nearly as prominent in the story.

I just discovered what A great actor Sam Rockwell is.
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) 10/10
and
Moon (2009) 10/10
First viewing of both films. I'm glad I knew little to nothing about what they were going to be about. Each film gave me exactly what I wanted and expected of a great movie experience. But then...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005) 0/10
From the first note of the opening song I knew that this re-telling was going to be awful, and I jumped ship early. I turned this off not long after the opening credits. I am a fan of the original BBC productions and books, not this.
“First feel fear, then get angry. Then go with your life into the fight.” - Bill Mollison
I am a fan of the TV show, and the radio play, and the books...and the movie.

Not a fan of the movie, but I'll admit he doesn't bring it down (He's no worse than everyone else around him).

I don't see any gambling going on around here.

"Irrational Man" (2015) written & directed by Woody Allen
Without a doubt, the worst movie Woody Allen has made in the last 10 years. I went into this absolutely cold (and completely high). All I knew was the title, it's a Woody movie and it stars Joaquin Phoenix.
I've been a Woody Allen fan since I was 12, and I've watched everything he's done. And I'm telling you right here right now, he phoned this one in. The script is just absolute garbage, with such shallow characters, and every line of dialogue is superficial and only exists to tell the audience what they need to know. For the majority of the film I kept wondering if this was an intentional troll film. Like, what if Woody made himself a bet that he could write a script in one day, then film it without any rewrites.
There's a line of dialogue early on that stayed in my mind throughout. Abe (Joaquin) is teaching his Philosophy class and says something like "Philosophy is just verbal masturbation." That's exactly what this film is, verbal masturbation.
But, it's not a complete Piece of Shite. The actors do the best they can with their roles, and the overall concept is great. But it's clear that Woody has delivered a dud.
Not his first misfire and certainly not his worst film, but man what a huge disappointment. It's a sad day when I realize that "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" had a better script than the new Woody Allen film.

Guardians of the Galaxy
You know a movie is good when you want to see it again less than five minutes into it. It suffered from Star Trek alien syndrome, but that didn't detract from the movie at all.
Jupiter Ascending
This was a good one too, though I can't say I enjoyed it as much as GotG.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I think this was my favourite, or maybe second favourite, of the Avenger's movies. I've yet to see the latest Thor movie and Age of Ultron, though.
Not being used to seeing many recent movies at once, I was amazed at how far CGI has come. Water still needs a little work, but for the most part, I can't tell what's CGI and what isn't.
The Pirates! in an Adventure with Scientists (2012)
Finally got arround (har!) to seeing this (I usually don't use the American release title, given that I read the book years ago).
A surprisingly moving allegory, with many profound insights about the human condition.
Score: 59 of 9000 points

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Why did no one tell me this was this good?!
Wait, everyone did. Multiple times.
Nevermind.
It's super-good though.

Canadian Bacon
It was pretty funny, though not the funniest comedy I've seen. Aside from not having moose and polar bears running around everywhere (and no igloos), I think they included every Canadian stereotype in there.
Catch Me If You Can
I greatly enjoyed most of it.

You clearly haven't been watching the MST3K version. ;)
Where were you in '77?
Actually, I did. I chose to rate the movie but its own content alone, though, ignoring Joel and the robots' commentary. Had I done otherwise, I would've given it a B.
