The bit with the insecticide canister is the one bit I would trim down.
I'd have had that bit taking place mostly in pitch black (for reasons that make sense if you have watched that scene).
It's meant to be brutal but that bit is visually just too much and it throws the whole scene.
It would be nasty enough with just the sound.

meh
They're in pre-production for a film version of the Brian K. Vaughn Runaways comics, presumably also titled "Runaways". I've never seen the chick band one, but I can't wait for this.
Reminds me of Crossroads (the 1986 Ralph Macchio blues road film) and Crossroads (the 2002 Britney Spears teen dramedy) - one is so great and the other is miserable, and people always think I'm talking about the miserable one. Frustrating.
I get excited when I see that Crossroads is on dish, and then it ends up being the shitty Spitney Brears one.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Rubber
A friend at work heard I got Netflix and told me I should watch this. Its a fake art film about a tire that rolls around and murders people with its mind. It's REALLY slow and we only got about a half hour into it before we stopped watching. But it supposed to be parodying really slow films with no purpose. My favorite part is right at the beginning, where a cop climbs out of the trunk of a car to deliver this speech to the audience (who is a character watching the events through binoculars):
In the Steven Spielberg movie E.T., why is the alien brown? No reason. In a love story, why do the two main characters fall madly in love with each other? No reason. In Oliver Stone's JFK, why is the President suddenly assassinated by some stranger? No reason. In the excellent Chainsaw Massacre by Toby Hooper, why don't we ever see the characters go to the bathroom or wash their hands like people do in real life? Absolutely no reason. Worse, in The Pianist by Polanski, how come this guy has to hide and live like a bum when he plays the piano so well? Once again, the answer is no reason. I could go on for hours with more examples. The list is endless. You've probably never given it a thought, but all great films, without exception, contain an important element of no reason. And you know why? Because life, itself, is filled with no reason. Why can't we see the air all around us? No reason. Why are we always thinking? No reason. Why do some people love sausages and other people hate sausages? No f***ing reason. You should give it a shot if you're really bored one day.

Batman The Animated Series Volume Four.
Why couldn't this series keep going?? :(
Didn't care for The New Batman Adventures personally, the redesigns were a turn-off. Not the new designs for characters, but the entire art look
Agreed. Loved everything up to the redesign. After the redesign- mixed feelings. Don't like the look. The cursing ramped up, which is a concern for me as a parent of young Batman fans. But some good episodes.

I disagree. Sure, the ending is a little weird. But I dug it. This is the movie I come back to when people say Chris Evans can't be serious.

Forgive me for playing the age card, Ziggy... but can you really appreciate this movie at 13? It's one of my favourites, but I can't imagine really having any of the life experience at 13 that forms the foundation of my own attraction to it.
C3PX:X-Files: I Want to Believe
I actually really enjoyed it. For some reason I didn't think much of it when I saw it just after it came out.
Last time I saw it I hadn't seen past season six of the TV series, so it was nice knowing more about the context of Mulder and Scully's situation this time through.
Crap. Are you telling me I'll have to watch it again and that I might actually like it if/when I watch the T-1000 seasons?

I'm impressed they managed to bring a traditional movie out of the last act of the book.

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM
"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.
And, finally, some thoughts of my own:
So, I felt like I finally had to watch Transformers 2. All of the TVs at Walmart were playing the "forrest fight scene" over and over again and I thought it looked pretty cool. I knew it was terrible, but I figured everyone else got to see it and pronounce it terrible, that I should as well.
Here are some random thoughts:
Okay, I think that does it. I had to play "cut the rope" on my phone just to feel like I wasn't completely wasting my time.

No, you don't have to watch it again. But yeah, if you didn't like it the first time I'd encourage a second viewing. Especially after you've watched the whole series, if you are watching the whole series.

(a) spending 2.5 hrs PLUS the time it took to write that post on stupid Micheal Bay films.
or
(b) binging on Fallout 3 like there is no tomorrow.

That's because you were wasting your time. Maybe "Cut the Rope" made you feel better about wasting that precious time, but it was wasted. And you can never get it back.
:( Bad Xhonzi! Bad!
I caught the first Transformers on my mother's gogglebox when I was away.
It was like someone had got three different films and mashed them together with only a tiny bit of care as to where and if the material linking together.
If the others are worse I shall not give them even that sort begrudging attention.

Well, the library needed it back and I wanted to save my FO3 for a more meaty space of time. And I had some other stuff I had to do on my phone/laptop and I couldn't very well play FO3 and do that at the same time, right?
I promise. FO3 starts tonight!

The main thing I remember about the movie was the "Can you believe an idiot like George W Bush is our president?!?!?" joke that was a little late to the party. Cutting edge humor there, Chris Carter. And quite bold and daring if I must say so myself.
I now own the whole series. Since they were so expensive when they were first released (>$100/season) I just had to grab all of the seasons when they were $15 per. Maybe I'll actually get around to watching them seriously once I cancel the ol' netflix. I've seen all of seasons 3-6, and most of 1-2 and I think practically none of 7-9. I imagine there was a quality drop after 6, but I'm still looking forward to cathing up with it some day.

Exactly
Fixed.
But seriously, when I was about 16 I went on a huge movie binge and watched all kinds of classics. I loved most of them, and I think I appreciated it pretty well for my age, but whenever I go back and watch one now they're like different movies sometimes. So I guess what I'm saying is Zig can appreciate Adaptation, he just might get something different out of it than Xhonzi (or future-Zig) might.

Season 6 is where the quality started to drop. Season 7 is generally pretty "meh," but the ending is a perfect series finale, so that's where I draw the line.
8 and 9 are atrocious, and I don't care what anyone says. The "new" mytharc was just ... ugh. And the real series finale is basically a 2-hour clip show.

Well, I guess I appreciate it because the writing is very creative and it is a very interesting story. I like the characters, and all the actors do a great job of portraying them.
That's all I can say.

That was a really dumb moment in the movie.

Massive quality drop after season six, but I still managed to enjoy them occasionally, and I actually really ended up liking Agent Doggett. Few hits, a lot of misses, but I am glade I watched them all. Tried to give the Lone Gunmen spin-off series a shot, but just couldn't do it.
Oh and another film I saw when I was away was Tree Of Life (2011) and I can't see what the fuss is all about.
It's a perfectly watchable film, with a few things to say that doesn't go very fast.
The performances from the child actors are remarkable and the other actors pull their weight, even Brad Pitt who I rarely can stand.
Some of the effects sequences are astonishing, the photography is beautiful and that's it really.
Reading some reviews you'd think it was either the most profound experience in the history of eyeballs or a pile of pretension higher than the Alps.

I heard it has old fashioned effects by Douglas Trumbull.

"Superman Returns"
This was a mixed bag for me. I like the Donner connection, but did not like the look of The Daily Planet. Brandon Routh was not bad, and I think Spacey was good too. The rest of the cast was forgettable. I disliked the casting of Lois most of all. Sure, It was a better film then Superman 3 & 4, but still missed the mark in my opinion. It did not have the charm, rhythm or comic timing of Donner's Superman work. Also, I think cutting the return to Krypton scene was a huge mistake.
