Four Weddings and a Funeral - 9/10

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Batman The Animated Series Volume Four.

Not really a movie but so damn good and definitive it counts. Why couldn't this series keep going?? :(

10 billion Kevin Conroy growls out of 10 billion square chins.

Didn't care for The New Batman Adventures personally, the redesigns were a turn-off. Not the new designs for characters, but the entire art look - it's why I don't care for Superman TAS as much either.

That said I've been watching Volume 3 myself recently. Good God I can't believe this was Saturday morning cartoon material, they got away with so much.

Just Go With It - 7/10

Although it was predictable, it was enjoyable and pretty funny, but I do like Adam Sandler and most of his movies. He and Jennifer Aniston had great chemistry. Plus, she appeared to be very cold in every scene, a fact I mentioned on the NSFW thread.

agreed, it goes from a 4 ball movie to a 1 ball movie at the drop of a hat.

Watched Dante 01 - a french sci fi film. It was kinda average but the trailers had made it look pretty interesting. One thing that ruined it for me was the terribly english dubbing.

it's also never entirely clear what is going on so it had the potential to be good but it just doesn't quite get there.

2 balls.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of that art look started in Superman. It's too bright and cheery and the Batman character redesigns were really jarring after being so used to the original animated versions. (Although I must admit I love the Babs redesign...)

Well, it wasn't that it was too bright for Batman - I found they still managed to keep the darkness in Gotham City. It just wasn't as high-quality if you ask me - and the Joker... just, I really hated his design especially. What did you think of Batman Beyond if I might ask? The second season it switched to digital coloring, which I think fit its futuristic look - but it was early in this process, and it does show sometimes because occasionally the coloring is just poor.

For Beyond it's hit or miss depending on the episode. The review screencaps of the new Blu-ray of Return of the Joker look stunning.

Carnosaur (1993)

Very enjoyable junk. If not for rather primitive effects work, the film actually had some plot to go for, with Ladd's character being something more fleshed out than you'd expect from this kind of film. The manner in which the T-Rex if offed is a bit cruel, especially considering the creature didn't go on a bloody rampage. Still, much of the flaws present are the reason I love B-movies.

The Hangover Part II

Not nearly as funny the first one. 5/10 balls.
-2 balls for continuing the disturbing trend of showing balls.
= 3/10 balls

Seriously, what is with the all the man-parts in comedies these days? I have recently seen Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Hall Pass and The Hangover Part II and I feel like Hollywood is trying to shove penis in my face. I am not appreciative. I'm sure "unrated version" DVDs are partly to blame. How I hate those...

Oddly enough, being a huge fan of comedies, The Hangover was not that great to me, just didn't do it for some reason.

The Hangover - 2/10

I do love me some Silence of the Lambs, but cuaght that the other night on one of the cable movies channels.

Kick-Ass.

It was reasonably kick-ass.  It's a little uncomfortable watching an 11-year old girl (the actress as well as the character) use the C-word, get the shit beat out of her by the main villain, and kill something like 95 times more bad guys than anyone else in the movie...but I suppose that's one of the things that makes this movie a little different than your standard high school ordinary joe superhero movie.
