a Project by Gavin Salkeld and Robert Beardsley
A construction of Wes Cravens original vision for the film, before
precutting it to appease the censors for theatrical release. Using the
Dailies, Outakes and the alternate cut ‘Krug & Company’ we are going
to attempt to restore the notorious violent scenes as much as we can
and re-instate the alternate / deleted scenes. Using The book ‘Making
of the last house on the left’, we attempt to bring Wes Cravens
chilling debut to viewers in a version that is as close as possible to
the film he and producer Sean Cunningham had originally conceived.

Hey there 😃
I have just joined so still getting used to the website, great stuff! 😃
I recently bought the Arrow 3 disc bluray release of this movie and I thought about any possibility of extending it? Incorporating any footage from the deleted scene to the dailies (now in HD but no sound so it would potentially need do be rebuilt), adding any footage from the Krug Cut that is not in unrated version, or trying to incorporate any alternate shots so its absolute max length.
In my humble opinion the original has some quality comedy relief with the cops, which I felt was needed and wasn’t carried over to the remake. It didn’t really match up to this building block of Horror movies for me personally.
I realise this is an old post but just thought I might see if there was any thoughts on this from members?
Enjoy your weekend 😎👍
