Hey Everyone, haven’t posted a lot on these forums, mostly following Adywan’s Star Wars Revisited here,
anywho since this is also a place for sharing ongoing fanedits I decided to post my project:

Lost Season 6: Purged**
Lost, a television phenomenon, building upon mysteries and character drama ended last year with a resolution that was to put it mildly dissatisfying to many long time watchers.
A big part of my personal disappointment was the fact that we were distracted with a big “mystery” solely constructed to distract from the actual plot and culminate into a sappy soap opera fanfiction group hug.
The sideways could have been an interesting concept and every week fans tried to figure out how it connected to the story - was it because of the hydrogen bomb? Or was there something even bigger going on? Would the sideways help our understanding of Lost?
What I understood: magic happy place so that we can have a clipshow at the end.
Also the fact that the writers withheld some of their answers to pretend that there would still be big revelations probably caused a lot of frustration, when everyone was looking towards Across the Sea shortly before the End and it turned out to be a lackluster “explanation” to be polite.
Since there are no more flash-backs, -forwards or -sideways, the Episodes “Across the Sea” and “Ab Aeterno” appear thorough the story to slowly unveil the backstory of the island and not hold back to build up more expectation than humanly bearable.
The explanations that are given are still the same “I made it so you can never hurt each other” and other versions of "magic man did it, so the story itself is not changed in those flashbacks, but I think if the last season had been a bit more straighforward with the backstory the frustration wouldn’t have been as big - or at least we would have had more time to prepare ourselves for the final bitchslap
also I try to remove any lines that are there to build fake-tv tension where none exists (see when they enter the temple and the note reads “if your friend dies we’re all in big trouble” whereas it was pretty much not that important if sayid dies or not)
Also there is a serious kate reduction. i hate everything about her character, she is useless, onedimensional, uninteresting and does nothing to the plot except for “love” into the story so all her “romance” will be reduced.
If you liked the ending because “it was all about the characters”, this edit is not for you, this is an edit for everyone who would still like to watch an ending for the series without half a season of distraction, if you want a fast packed finale that wastes as little time as possible, this edit might be just for you.

Drastically reduce poison pill sequences
Cut Zoe whenever possible
Cut down Kate as much as possible
Reduced fake tension when Jin is in Claire’s lair
When Claire tells Jin about Aaron she doesn’t say “first my father told me and then my friend” she says “my friend told me”, since she knows that smokey is christian why does she treat them like separate beings in this episode?
Ab Aeterno and Across the Sea used as opening flashback until episode 7
Removed Dogen talking about a “scale” that decides good or evil - I mean seriously?
Removed Jack meeting Kate when they go to the lighthouse
Removed flashback when Smokey explains Jacob’s touch to Sawyer
Removed flashbacks that shove Adam and Eve down our throats
Sun does not lose her voice for no reason at all
Cut “where’s my husband” and Sun overreacting in the camp
inserted Dharma Station 1 - The Hydra video when Jin is kept in Room 23
When Desmond gets blasted with electromagnetism he has a vision of Penny (sideways footage) also there is a new montage of future events hinting that Desmond now understands what the future will bring, therefore he cooperates
Cut “explanation” of the whispers - need I elaborate?
New opening montage of places on the island for final episode to replace sideways opening
Reduced Jack and Desmond talking
cut Desmond mentioning the sideways
cut Desmond saying “I’m still here, i thought I’d leave this place” when jack gets him back
added Ben shutting down the Dharma Station
added Ben visiting Walt
added new ending

I go through the season always two episodes a piece to combine them to one episode. Once I’m done with an episode I will upload it for people to view so i can get some feedback before doing the final dvds and all the fancy stuff
Needed right now:
If anyone has the german dvds or a dvd with a german audio track it would be amazing if you could send me the audio
Also people who speak either french or german are welcome since I will focus on the english version, then replace the audio with german and french but I don’t see myself watching every episode in all three languages that’s a bit too insane even for me
