KotOR2: The Sith Lords for XBox has gone gold... — Page 2

When I played through the Dark Side the first time I played, I played really quickly and never found HK-47, so I was curious: does he get really excited if you cross to the Dark Side? It would seem that, the more vicious you are, the more you'd earn his support. I can't wait to try a Dark Side run-through again; the giddiness I felt when I caused those two families to wipe each other out on Dantooine is difficult to describe. Not that I'm a twisted individual or anything, but it was just fun to play with their minds, albeit sad at the same time.

I don't recall now. Its been a while since I played DS.
For some reason, its just not in my nature to be that evil.

Lately, I've been challenging myself. Right now, I'm playing a LS weaponless game.

Weaponless, eh...how does that work?

Precisely. This is my second time trying it. First time through I played DS, so I'd have an easier time with Drain Life and Force Lightning. I made mistakes with that character. First of all, I loaded up on Strength. Not smart. My force powers were too easily shrugged off, and I couldn't use any Wisdom increasing items (their all LS restricted).

This time I'm going with LS.
I'm a 6/14 Scoundrel/Consular. Being a Scoundrel is important, because of the damage bonus you can get from Sneak Attack if an enemy is unable to attack.
My favorite move is to first use Force Choke/Death, then to Flurry them while they cannot respond. It usually takes enemies out pretty quick.

See. Starkiller's pulling a Jacen vs Onimi on the ancient hinhabitants of the galaxy.

My brother's first (and my second) player characters were so weak when we got to Malak that we had to run around throwing our lightsabers at him. He serioulsy has no way to counter this, so the only thing that can prevent your victory is getting stuck on the walls. (You have to run into the camera to keep your lock-on Malak.)

Yeah, one of my characters was a Scoundrel-Guardian, not the best combo.

Oh, on the contrary, I think the Scoundrel/Guardian is can be very strong. My first character was a 7/13 Scoundrel/Guardian.

What made him really powerful was a combination of (again) the Sneak Attack bonus and Force Jump. When you Force Jump into an enemy, its not able to react, thus you get the bonus.
I was taking down Horned Kath Hounds at level 8 with a single hit.

Meh, maybe I just didn't level it up like I should have, because he really sucked.

I think it works best for me if you auto level your atributes but select your skills personally.

There's a lot to master, but just learining it is easy. It is much more streamlined and acessable than some RPGs, like Morrowind.

I actually havent finished yet. I havent had time to play in a while, but im going darkside. I kinda feel bad about dooming the wookies into eternal slavery, but hey, evil is evil :-p

but speaking of challenges ive currently only leveled twice, when the force you too in the beginning, and then when you first become a jedi. Gonna see how far i can get without leveling.

Why Anakin really turned to the dark side:
"Anakin, You're father I am" - Yoda
"No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!" - Anakin

Even though it is just a game, my twisted sense of morality will just not let me pick the darkside choices and doom virtual people to their death.

I don't play KoToR much anymore. Though, it was the only game longer than 125 minutes that compelled me to replay it immediately after completing it. It's a real crime it didn't get Game of the Year.

My first game, Bob of Earth, I played mostly light all the way through.

My second game, Erika Revan, I played so balanced that I was at dead center of light and dark when I reached the point of no return. (I ultimately chose to kill Bastila. Really dissapointing when she was there, alive, in the ending cinematic.)

I've played 5 or 6 games.

Game 1 was a male scoundrel/guardian, light side.
Game 2 was a male soldier/guardian, mostly light side.
Game 3 was a female scout/sentinel, dark side.
Game 4 was a male soldier/?sentinel?, light side, armor/blaster jedi.
Game 5 was a male scoundrel/consular, dark side, weaponless.
Game 6 (current project) is a male scoundrel/consular, light side, weaponless.

I may have another game in there somewhere.
In order to save space (and clutter on my save screen), I zipped my older games.

I should qualify one thing. In my weaponless games, I have been using grenades, but nothing else. In fact I beat Malak by spamming him with Thermal Detonators. Worked very good. After draining his "batteries", I just starting throwing detonators. One hits, and he gets knocked down. As soon as gets up, the next one is at his feet and going off.

Playing dark side all depends on my mood. For some reason I derived a lot of pleasure through causing the two families on Dantooine to destroy themselves.

Chaltab, what do you mean "shame it didn't get game of the year," to my understanding the majority of Gaming Publications and even the major websites crowned it game of the year(even X-Play did).

Cool. I was aware that it got GMR's 'Most Radical' game of the Year award... but not any others...

BUt the GOTY I pay most attention to is Gamespot's. And The Wind Waker stole it. TWW was a great game, but KoToR was just better.

You know, I'd love to read this thread but I haven't played through 1 yet and I fear spoilers. All I know is that it has the best twist at the end, ever.

And I read the reviews for number 2...looks solid. This is a great year in the gaming industry.

Well, technically, the twist comes about 5/8 of the way through, but who's counting?

KotOR does have a great twist. We won't spoil that one for you.

However, you should look over the thread some, because that it will wet your apetite for the game.

I'm plenty whetted. The problem is, I need to get fired so I can finally schedule all the gaming I want. If I got fired and my girlfriend dumped me, it would do wonders for my gaming life.

Ah, the constraints of priorities.

But yes, I'm whet for that game.

That's an awful joke. I apologize.
