Now that the CBB DVDs will soon find their way to a wider audience, I thought there should be some decent covers to go with them. So, I started designing covers for each CBB DVD. Below is are thumbnail previews of the covers I've completed so far, along with and links to the hi-res versions.

Thanks to meedermow for arranging to host the hi-res jpg versions.

THAT IS A PRETTY WICKED LOOKING COVER, KLOKWERK. HOWEVER, I WOULD GET RID OF THE GOLD BY REPLACING IT WITH SILVER WHICH WILL FIT BETTER WITH THE BLUES THAT YOU USED. I LIKE THE SHADE OF RED THAT YOU USED, BUT YOU MIGHT UP THE BRIGHTNESS BY ONE NOTCH. THE NUMBERING SYSTEM IS A GREAT IDEA. IT LET'S US KNOW THE ORDER IN WHICH THE EDITS WERE RELEASED. ALL-IN-ALL YOU DID A GREAT JOB.

Hi Klokwerk,

Looks really nice - reminds me of the universal collectors series of DVDs. One Niggly point would be you have used the old version of the DVD VIDEO logo on the spine - the new one features the format underneath the disc (VIDEO, ROM etc)

Well, I did a bit of an update. The two 'headings' for the contents and specs of the DVD are now in Bank Gothic. They've also been changed to blue to stand out more. I brightened the red titless, both 'Boogeyman' and 'Doomed by the Boogeyman'. I also changed the spine title to be exactly the same as the one on the front cover. I made the 'banners' silver, and I changed the spine DVD logo to the newer, more common one.

The symbols on the bottom of the back cover are few and I need someone to suggest which ones I use instead of these, in addition to these or whatever. These aren't how they will be placed, was just trying to work out which ones I'd need to use.

Again, please give me any thoughts on the changes, and suggestions on what to improve. Thanks PSYCHO_DAYV and DVD-BOY for replying when nobody else has. I wish boon23 would come take a look at least.

EDIT: Preview #2 Removed. "Doomed by the Boogeyman" cover has been finished. See the first post in this thread.

oh WOW!!!!

First of all, I like it, how you worked in the boogeyman drawings from the boogeyman page. That totally fits to the trailer on the DVD and blue is a great colour overall for the movie (it is definetly not red). The writing and where it is placed on the front looks perfect to me. I am not so sure for either silver or gold yet. I suggest the writing on the side to be larger and I definetly prefer red here over black, just because it will not be readable from a distance in black. Now back to the front: I don't like Tim's frightened eyes in there... they just don't seem to fit. And I am very glad you did not pick the wall nor the chair form the wallpapers of the boogeyman website, because they do not appear in the edition. The writing on the back is awesome, very well done, great size, high readability. The bed also looks great and I would not move it an inch from where you posted it. All in all: great work as of yet. When I once was asking for a HANNIBALIZED DVD cover that was exactly the skill that I had in mind and why I wanted someone else to do it.
Keep up the great work. I am of course willing to help you wherever you require any help or information.

Thank you for giving your thoughts on the cover, as this cover was intended for your and CBB's benefit. On to the points you raised...

I do think the silver looks better than the 'gold', but I'm happy to try out other things, please give me some ideas. In regards to the title on the spine, it is currently occupying the entire width of the spine so I can't really make it any bigger. The only thing I can do would be to make both "Doomed by the" and "Boogeyman" (the 2 lines of the title) the same size. In comparison to the title at the moment, "Doomed by the" would get bigger and "Boogeyman" would get smaller. Finally, the eyes were a last minute addition to cover up the space in the middle, the next preview will not have them and you'll see what I mean. I need some suggestions as to what could go in place of the eyes.

Like I've said before, once this one's finished, then I can make covers for the other CBB DVDs in the same style.

To everyone else; thank you for the kind comments on the cover (Rikter, segaflip, boon23). Keep the thoughts/opinions coming.

Top class work klokwerk - very imaginative. I'd definitely go with the silver edging - just for the very reason that DVD-BOY states - that the gold is too reminiscent of the old Universal Special Editions - hence the silver giving you an indelible trademark of your own !

Keep up the good work & make sure you get a hi-res version posted here or sent to Rikter for inclusion or any future releases

Well, below is the cover in its third incarnation. I have left the silver for the time being. I like it, and although I'm willing to try other ideas, I have none at the moment. I changed the spine so that it has "Doomed by the Boogeyman" on the one line. The text is slightly bigger than the previous version of the spine's title. I can still do a 2-line version, or I can make the current version smaller. Let me hear your thoughts on this specifically. I have removed the eyes from the center of the front cover, but I need something to fill the space. I can't think of anything that might fit though. :/ Finally, I changed/added/removed some symbols, again I need ideas on what changes to make their (ignoring placement as I'm not yet up to that).

Meedermow, I agree on the silver being better than the gold, not sure if it'll be a trademark of mine though. Also, rest assured, I will indeed get hi-res versions of this and any other CBB covers out there somehow once they're all done.

Enough babbling from me, here is the latest version:

Hi again,

The last one is IMHO the best currently. Even without anything in the middle of the front it looks better than before. You may want to place there the door from the poster of boogeyman, just because the entire movie is about opening and closing doors, so it would be a pity to find no door at all. Finally after googling for pictures I found the image you used for the back. I love the bed, but the hooded figure is not part of the movie at all, not even the original movie. Still it looks good there.

I worked on 1 door image and added the poster, maybe you want to use one...

Below is a preview of the cover, with the poster's 'hand around the door' image blended into the space on the front cover. Is this what you were thinking of? Did you want me to try it with the other door image? I also changed the top banner to have the Director's name before the film's name.

Thanks boon23, PSYCHO_DAYV. Now do you reckon it's done? I need some help with the symbols at the bottom on the back, if somebody can help me with those, then I'll be finished I think.

from left to right :
picture 1,85:1 anamorphic (the one you used)
Audio: English, French, German
Dolby Digital 2ch ac3 (the one you used looks great, but perhaps you could add the DD symbol)
NTSC (the one you used)
region code: all (the one you used)
genre: horror
...and maybe the movie company: LGF

I have changed the symbols around a bit. I think listing the audio languages available in that space would be a little redundant due to the specs near the top of the back cover. However, adding the logo for the company is a good idea. I just need to know which LGF logo is used for the DVDs. I have found 3, if it's not one of those I'd need someone to supply me with the LGF logo. Anywho, I revised the paragraphs about the film and made some other minor textual edits. Now, since the last lot of changes I haven't altered the spine or the front cover at all, so I decided to upload the back cover, with the 3 LGF logos with a slightly bigger resolution. Now, I need comments on the text on the back cover, the symbols, and which LGF logo to use (top, middle, bottom). Thanks for helping me out everyone.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I changed the color of some text from white to blue to help break it up a bit more. That's the - "Boogeyman" Directed by Stephen Kay, 2005 - bit of text. Should I keep it blue (which matched "The Edit" and "Special Features")?

you are right about the languages.
and I have to say: sorry, I have made a mistake!!! I was so much inside the HIGh TENSION project, that I mixed them up. There is no french or german version, just english and the working track. Sorry.

There is no DVD ROM content on the DVD. You can only get the cover and the info by downloading the torrent.

The text changes look great. Keep it that way.

Ah okay. I had a funny feeling that there weren't three different languages on Boogeyman. I'll upload another preview soon with what I hope will be the last lot of changes. However, I need to know two things: How many chapter stops does this movie have? Also, boon23 says that the middle logo is the one used (it is slightly different), PSYCHO_DAYV says that the top one is used. Which one is the one that's used?

It seems I am having a really bad week in mixing things up...ehm...no LGF at all. It is Ghost House Productions and Screen Gems and Senator International. Logos:

As for the chapters: of course there are 13!!! chapters in the movie.

Well, the Senator and Ghost House Pictures logos were hard to find in decent quality (eps, psd, font, etc). So I decided merely to add the Screen Gems logo. I resized the logos a bit and did some other minor stuff. I think this is the final version. I know people will say I should have the other company logos on there, but it's really hard to get them and I hate dealing with strings of symbols/logos. It's a fanmade edit, it's not that big of a deal, no? Let me hear what you think. There's kind of the irony in just having the DVD distributor there as it is a fanmade DVD. I need to make any final adjustments after hearing you guys once more and then I can start on the other CBB edits. Anyway, here it is:

THE CLOSET DOOR IN THE CENTER OF THE FRONT COVER IS A LITTLE TOO DARK. TRY LIGHTENING IT UP JUST A NOTCH, SO THAT IT BLENDS IN MORE WITH THE REST OF THE COVER. DON'T MAKE IT THE SAME SHADE OF BLUE AS YOU AS THE REST OF THE COVER AS YOU STILL WANT IT TO STAND OUT FROM THE REST OF THE IMAGES. OTHER THAN THAT IT LOOKS FANTASTIC.
