Sorry Jedikev....I should have used an emoticon there so you knew that I was joking. I thought it was pretty apparent from the start. And I'm not an ASS!!!!! I'm a horse-toothed jackass!!!!!!!!! I will only accept certain insults!!!

Thanks MeBe for getting the joke though!!!

Now.....I've been doing some thinking about this asswipe Kevin Smith and his shit-for-brains comments he's made.......here's what I've come up with.

First, here's some references from KS's films.....

Clerks - the scene where Dante and Randal are talking about which is better: Empire or Jedi....

Dante: Empire has the better ending....Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader is his father, Han Solo gets frozen and taken to Jabba The Hutt. It ends on such a downer. That's all life is: a series of down-notes. All Jedi had was a bunch of Muppets.

Okay......want further exposition......

How 'bout Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back....

Holden McNeil: Now considering a Jay And Silent Bob movie has to be the worst idea since Greedo shooting first.....

Gee....do I see a pattern here??? Kevin wouldn't be the first writer to insert his view on certain subjects into his art, so is it possible that KS is telling us his feelings on said SW subject matter.

Okay.....so now we get these comments and the comments he made in his ROTS review that basically said that anyone who hates this movie is a whiny bitch and so forth.......why the turnaround???

Well....let me venture a guess.........

Um....a few years ago, Kevin hosted the Star Wars fanfilms award. This was an OFFICIALLY sanctioned LucASSfilm event, which means that KS has been in contact with the people at LucASSfilms.

AND.....

There are these rumors flying around that KS has been asked to contribute to the new SW TV series..........

Considering that KS hasn't done anything in recent memory that was any good.......Jersey Girl flopped and there's rumor after rumor after rumor of KS working on new Fletch films and some kind of Sci-Fi film for Miramax....all of which have yet to materialize. I would guess that KS's career might be pretty much winding down.

It sounds to me that KS is a two-faced little bastard who is now 'involved' with the LucASS organization in some way. And these comments are nothing but total and complete dicksucking on his part cuz now he gets to be involved in SW in some compacity.

If this is true and KS does have something to do with the new SW show......then he will have gone down quite a few notches in my opinion. Actually, he's a fucking asshole loser traitor to the OT.

I got only one thing to say to you Kevin....SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a riot.

And Kev, a rhetorical question is one where the answer is already known, or not necessary.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

Yes I agree with you there...getting so close to that source of evil I think has ruined him. By the way, anyone ever see the one that Lucass picked out as his favorite piece? It was dogshit!

Ha ha ha. Figures. I can't stand Kevin Smith. He's easily my least favorite director working today. Not only do I dislike all of his films, but I hold him responsible for single-handedly ruining everything which was previously neat about making Star Wars references in other creative works.

I've never taken his opinions on ANYTHING seriously before, and this is no exception.

He's been sucking up to Lucas since Phantom Menace ... and make no mistake: Smith is a huge suck-up. He's definitely courting work.

At one point I did wonder if my disliking the prequels had to do with me being older now ... then Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films came out, and they filled me with the same awe and wonder that Star Wars did back in the 70's.

Yeah, Mr. Smith ... the prequels are just three movies. Three BAD movies. Not unlike your films. No wonder you're so oversensitive.

You do realize you just made something up about Kevin Smith and then ripped into him about it. You have NO proof that Kevin Smith is currently part of Lucasfilm or that he will be in the future. Just because he hosted a Lucasfilm sponsered fanfest a few years ago doesn't mean he sold his soul to the devil. I personally would love to host such a thing, and it wouldn't stop me blasting ROTJ from here to the Endor Moon.

And, of the top of my head, I don't know if he directed it or just acted in it, but Dogma was brilliant.
The Jedi are all but extinct.......

I've met Kevin Smith three times ... and he's a serial suck-up. His Luc-ass licking is the same behavior that he's demonstrated when courting projects with other entities.

Call it an informed opinion.

Speaking of opinions, Dogma is his least sucky movie as far as I'm concerned. But even though it blows less than his other films, it still blows. I'm quite sure I'll fall into the minority here .... but I honestly can't stand anything he's ever made.

So by posting this interview are we suppose to be like "oh ks said it, time to pack it in everybody" LOL! Gimme a break, Kevin who? Regardless the PT still sucks and was poorly written, directed, produced, the whole thing, now go back to sleep!
"Drink the Kool-Aid. Wear blinders. Cover your ears. Because that's the only way you can totally enjoy Revenge of the Sith -- the final and most futile attempt from skilled producer, clumsy director and tin-eared writer George Lucas to create a prequel trilogy to match the myth-making spirit of the original Star Wars saga he unleashed twenty-eight years ago. Fan boys, of course, have convinced themselves otherwise. So have several critics, if you go by early reviews."

“This new Vader cycle (the prequels) has split the one-time Old Republic that was Star Wars fandom into two warring factions: the Rebellion, and the normal people with a sense of perspective who don’t need a term from the Star Wars lexicon to define them. The Rebellion is populated by the joyless, cynical ubertrolls who, sadly, take up the most space on the Internet. These are the hollow men and women who marched into the prequels demanding that Lucas recapture their lost Star Wars youth for them – that simple time in their lives when they had the excuse of prepubescence to explain why they were still virgins. With that much investment in make-believe, its little wonder they emerged as more twisted by the dark side than young Skywalker himself. The rest of us who grew in the sixteen years between Jedi and Phantom Menace view the new trilogy for what it is: three movies, not three impossible-to-fulfill expectations of folks who need a bearded billionaire in flannel to dream for them.”

- Kevin Smith, Rolling Stone Magazine Interview, June 2nd, 2005

this guy is a Lucas worshipping moron. I am getting sick and tired of reading this kind of nonsense.

By the way, in contrast to Smith, anyone care what filmmaker(s) of our day hasn't lost the faith? Trey Parker & Matt Stone of course!

When asked about "Star Wars," most celebs rarely brought up the controversial prequels. When they did, the memories were often unpleasant. Such sentiments were summed up by "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone when they were asked what they'll remember.

"The original 'Star Wars' movies," said Parker.

"Yeah," echoed Stone. "The feeling I had when I liked it."

"That movie was our religion," said Parker. "It was basically saying, 'Hey, there's this power out there, and we can all sort of tap into it, and it's us and it's everything, and anyone can do this.' And then suddenly the new ones came out, and it's like, 'Well, no, it's all genetics. It's all in your blood.' "
"Horrible," Stone said of the prequels. "Beyond all the wooden acting and the stupid fights and all the terrible scripts, the very core of 'Star Wars' was ruined in these new ones. The idea that you're born with the force is so anti the original 'Star Wars.' Even though George Lucas made them all, he's wrong."

When asked which character they hate the most, Parker doesn't miss a beat: "Anyone in the prequels."
"Anything in any of the new ones," Stone agreed. "They don't exist to me. I don't even know what you're talking about. The new 'Star Wars' don't exist in my reality. Lucas is just an insane guy up in San Francisco now."

We don't need proof dude. I think that most people on these boards are pretty bright and can figure things out for themselves......so connect the dots, man. KS has to have had some contact with the LucASS organization if he hosted that awards thing. Who's to say that one thing hasn't led to another behind the scenes and he's going to have a job writing for Star Wars in some way.

I do believe that LucASS does make his people sign non-disclosure contracts so they can't talk about anything they do or are going to do with LucASS.

Come on man, use the fuckin' force here. This shit ain't difficult to figure out. Anyone with any experience in human nature can pretty much piece together what's going on behind the scenes in this kind of stuff.

I'm sorry, MeBeJedi.......I've noticed I've been more profane than I should be. I will try to tone it down.

Emotions are always high where Star Wars is concerned.

And to anyone who wants to make some smarty-pants comment about the line above this one.....there's worst things to be hung up on, you know.....I could be shooting up heroin........so pipe down and just DEAL with my quirkiness!!!

Now that I couldn't have said better than myself. Well I already posted that the PT doesn't exist to me and I'm still wondering what Vader was like before his change, and the mystery that is Fett, guess we'll never know.

I personally think that a group of fans are going to make three movies all on their own that will be underground sensations which will be heralded as THE films that should have been made.

Or some fan is going to write his own fan-fics of the entire saga and do it right from the get-go. Most fan-fics like that are crappy, but there will be someone ambitious enough to re-imagine Star Wars like that.

If there are any fans out there who are thinking of making their own films of the prequels, I would humbly pledge my writing skills to your efforts.....I would LOVE to be involved in such an endeavor.

Actually, and this was another reason that stuck out for me with regards to Lucas's revisionism, some of the books deal with Fett quite well - i.e. - the Bounty Hunter Trilogy. His history is fleshed out and it's totally fitting; not to mention badass. Unlike Lucas's dumb 'hey-i'm-a-little-bounty-hunter-clone; here-is-my-helmet-there is-my dad' ensemble BS, the books are actually fitting.
Yet another reason why I ignore the prequels entirely; the books/expanded universe vision of Star Wars is just so much more complex & grandiose. Not to mention Gungan-free.

you know i cant wait from lots of fan to do this and start realizing that is alot harder then they thought to write everything in exactly the right way.
