Jurassic Park theatrical regrade (retired project)

I spent today regrading the bluray release of Jurassic Park to more closely match the original release.
I don’t have a massive amount of time for these kinds of things, so it’s a blanket adjustment across the entire movie. some scenes don’t match as closely as they could, but I went through the whole movie very carefully, adjusting as i went, and settled for a very good compromise.

This looks amazing! Have you considered trying Dr. Dre’s color match? I’m using it on a fan reconstruction, and it replicates it perfectly.

Hmm, I have not heard of that one. I have been using resolve for a while. Not very good at it to be honest, took me a while to figure out many features, I’m a game designer, not a video editor XD.
Dr dres colour match. I’ll definitely have a look for it, and see what I can do with it!

Thats a really cool tool! I think for it to be any use though, I’d have to do each scene. I think they are all graded differently, and is why I could only get a close fit rather than perfection. I don’t have the time to do scene by scene, even though I would really love to. Perhaps a project for the future.

Yeah, it shouldn’t be too overwhelming. It’s over a year since I finished updating my Terminator project and from time to time I still get PMs here and there, haha. So be a generous host and keep on it till you feel like it. As long as you don’t feel the need to respond to every request immediately at the expense of your sanity, you’ll be fine. 😃
