I wonder if they'll work the Endor Holocaust into continuity this time around.

I thought after the train wreck that the EU became that they'd take their time this go around to ensure history wouldn't repeat itself. Working individually with each writer, but nope.

You were naive if you thought that they wiped EU because they thought it was not good. They just cleared the space so they can sell new crap.

Looks like they are replacing the Zahn trilogy with the Aftermath trilogy.

The Zahn series never was film level canon.  Now that it is legends it is not even in the same universe it is in another discarded continuity altogether.

Obviously since Star Wars is no longer different tiers of canon but all one canon.

Since the Legends continuity is no longer being published in it might as well be erased from existence.

Going forward there way no way they were going to have competing timelines or a multiverse.

It this turns out to be the case, I'm going to make Lucasfilm my bitch.

It seems like that's the case. Star Trek implemented an explicit branching timeline device in order to preserve the old continuity as well as building a new one from a specified branching point.

Star Wars' "Legends" moniker carries the connotation that any or all of these may or may not be 'valid,' and they aren't subject to any hierarchy other than being lumped into one group. It wouldn't make sense to publish further series into a "Legends timeline," because there isn't one. Further Legends material may be possible, but it would implicitly be up to the reader to decide how it all fits together. There isn't, the way its being handled now, a robust framework to install new Legends stories into that would build on other Legends stories. If it happens, it would be messy and ambiguous.

I'm overstating it, but my point is to distinguish this approach from Star Trek's.

My stance on revising fan edits.

I don't see how that's possible. I've never threatened to make Lucasfilm my bitch before now.
