Jon's Despecialized Edition BD Covers/Discs

Hello all!

Last month I discovered this website and Harmy’s Despecialized Editions through a search to find the original theatrical releases of the original trilogy to add to my blu-ray collection. After I finished downloading them, I decided I (like pretty much everyone else, it seems) wanted to put them on blu-ray to watch in our home theater. In doing so, I also decided I wanted to make my own custom blu-ray case and disc artwork.

I based my designs off of Frank’s Arrow “White Box” blu-rays, but also the original VHS release of the films, using a modern take on those original VHS cases.

This is still a work-in-progress, so any constructive feedback is much appreciated!

Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Thanks, and hope you enjoy!

I like these, but they do not show the optional audio commentary tracks available with each movie and who is heard in them.

I like it! Very contemporary, tells me what I want to know.

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

Honestly, that is the best/most professional looking set I’ve seen on here.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I had completely forgotten I posted these on here until I got the notification this morning, so I went back in, made a couple of small fixes I noticed when I printed them off, and made them printer-friendly to share with you all.

These are in PDF format at 300ppi (for home printers):

As far as listing the commentary, subtitles, or languages, it was a deliberate choice not to list them for personal reasons. For example, on the versions I burned to blu-ray, I removed all but the 70mm six track mix and the isolated score audio tracks, and only kept the main English subtitles. In my personal instance, I’ll never need all of the various languages, and I don’t enjoy commentary tracks, so I removed them to make room for a custom-created animated menu.

I may go back and do a version with the artwork you posted, Disastroid, but I have yet to find a version large enough that doesn’t require a TON of clean-up work in order to print at the quality I wanted. If you have a link to a much higher text-free version, I’d love to take a shot at it!

If people are interested, I can definitely keep going on this project and release disk artwork or anything else people have an interest in.

Thanks for your interest, everyone!
