Pre visualization on the effects scenes tends to happen before or during principal photography these days, so it's not impossible.

Aside from Harrison's injury, they seem to have had a smoothly running production so far. If they wrap before the holidays, everybody gets a breather if they have to do any pickups or re-shoots early next year.

He would have to have a score to be recorded by at least March to make the Holiday release date right?

Rumor has it that the reason Williams is going to start writing music in the next couple of weeks is because Disney wants to attach an Episode VII teaser to "Into The Woods" which opens on Christmas Day. The teaser would feature original music written by Williams. Nothing has been confirmed, but, if true, this may explain why Williams is starting early... So this may be another instance like "Hook" or the first "Harry Potter" where Williams wrote music specifically for the teaser and trailers.

No, he didn't. If true, I believe this will be the first time a Star Wars teaser will feature original music... I will have to look back to make sure. As far as I know, Williams has only specifically written trailer music for 1941, Hook and the first Harry Potter.
