James Bond 007 WARHEAD (* unfinished project *) — Page 2

Interesting, BB could be be more specific on what part of Goldeneye shows that Bond has been out of a job since LTK? I've seen the film several times and didn't ever catch that

The original plan was for Warhead to be set in 1993.

As for using Detonator 2 at all, I doubt it. Brosnan does not even remotely resemble bond in that film, Mostly due to the long hair and stash.

However, you could make it like he was on vacation as bond in Detantor 2

Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

Bond goes through an evaluation at the beggining of the film by that woman the female M sent. The script very specifically said that he was being evaluated so he could return to the Agency. And the flashback itself is set BEFORE The Living Daylights, because they felt setting it after Licence to Kill wouldn't be as appropriate. Why? Because Bond had just left, thats why.

I would advise you to consider to set it at the mid-80's, and have it serve as the CR of the Dalton-Brosnan entries, if you catch my drift. Plus, that way you can use an excuse to not have Brosnan say "Bond... James Bond", by building up to it.

BUT, its your re-edit, and whatever you decide to do is your choice.

I'll be just as happy with a new Brosnan Bond.

My life is really... Complex!

It is really too bad Brosnan's Last outing as bond was in the video game everything or nothing.

Even though the plot is Ludicrous and the Cgi is pretty bad In Die Another Day, it is still an enjoyable action piece is a bit of a jokey one.  Many See that film as the absolute lowpoint of the Franchise, and Casino Royale 2006 as the absolute highpoint.  I Disagree on Both Points as for me Moonraker is the worst Bond feature since the sixties Casino Royale or never say never again are not a part of the series.  To Me the Best bond of the series Is  From Russia with Love.

How you made it and whatever the story is it has to have the "Bond-feeling", meaning that you must add the line "Bond...James Bond" and a few other Bond elements and not make it as another simple actionmovie. I have big hopes for this project and I feel it will fill the era 89-95 as it is a missing era in the Bond history. I hold my thumbs.

I was thinking - didn't PB made a action movie in the early 90s that was called "Livewire" or something like that. Seen it but I don't really remember much about it as it was long ago. But maybe something could be used from that one too. Have to check out for that one.

I have to Laugh out Loud because The remington steele show Brosnan was on and could not get out of his contract for was a knockoff of james bond.

I Saw Sam Neil's screentest and he would have made an Interesting James Bond.

The screentest for Brosnan when he was younger for living daylights i wish was released because i would like to see it.

There was a rumor before Connery was cast that Jack Lord was considered for Bond but could not get out of his contract for Haiwai 5-0.  I find this Hilarious as he was also up for the role of Captain Kirk which William Shatner actually got.  Jack Lord funilly enough got a part in DR No as Felix i believe.

It is also well known that they wanted Roger Moore in the Sixties when he was On the Show The Saint but Moore Could not get out of his contract.

The sixties had some very good spy shows Like The Avengers, The Saint, Mission Impossible, the Man From Uncle.  I find it Funny that some of the women form the Avengers actaully ended up in bond films.

I wish I wouldn't have announced this yet, only because I think it's going to take a little longer than expected. I recently got involved into a lot of work and it will be the fall at earliest before I can tackle this. Glad to see people are excited about it though.

Don't sweat it.  Just let this thread slip into the murky haze of the dozens and dozens of projects in the works or on the backburner here and later on, you drop a warhead on us.

Cool!  Looks like you are getting ready to push the button.

Makes me wish Pierce did not age so fast and was still James Bond.  I hate Daniel Craig as bond.  Not because of his acting which is for the most part pretty good because he looks nothing like james bond more like a bond villain.

Die Another day will be the last bond i have in my permanent collection, if not for grudgingly owning martin campbell's casino royale as a separate continuity on dvd.  As for the last film it was so poorly reviewed and received and never even bothered watching it.  Why did not Campbell direct Quantum?

Hopefully the next fim will be good it is already in the pre scripting stage and they are looking for locations.

I only wish Pierce had been Bond ealier and for more films.  I wished they did at least 2 more.

He was the best bond by far since Connery.  I could care less what anymore thinks that is my own opinion.  He saved the franchise in Goldeneye when the previous actor almost ruined BOND.

I do like The Living Daylights however.  License to Kill is a dissapointingy flawed film.  Bond going rogue is a good concept the way in which it was executed was done poorly.  And the hammy and poor acting from the supporting casts villians is laughable, and i can't remember the Bond girl in that film for the life of me.  Whereas D'abo was hot in daylights.

I'm sure Dalton was dissapointed that he gave up on bond.  So much so he tried playing him again if only in referrence in looney tunes back in action.  I will always remember him not as Bond but  as the Bad actor who played a passable prince Baron in 1980's Flash Gordon.

I could care less if he was Broccolis heir apparent to the Bond Franchise.  You had the bad 70's and 80's bonds before bond returned to form in goldeneye.  The 90"s bond started out well. When the run ended in die another day in the 21st century it was obviously time for fresh start.  But i would have still gone the serious route they did.  But still kept the gadgets and Moneypenny and Q.  If i controlled the franchise i would have chosen a different actor. I would have chosen someone like Clive Owen who in hindsight might have been a poor choice. He has the look but he is not as good an actor as Daniel Craig.  Even if Owen has more star power in previous years.

I think just about everybody has been looking at the reboot Bond films all wrong. Non-fans saw Casino Royale as the absolute high-point of the series, basically because it was nothing like a James Bond film. Fans liked it but didn't think it felt "Bond" enough. Both sets of people disliked Quantum of Solace.

The reboot is simultaneously deconstructing and reconstructing James Bond. In Casino Royale, we got a stripped-down, bare-bones, run-of-the-mill secret agent character. He's just another agent. He's honestly closer to Harry Palmer than he is to any iteration of James Bond. Slowly, throughout the film, we started to see hints of the elements in his life that would create Bond, but nothing so noticeable as to be clear until the next film came out. Once Quantum arrived, the reconstruction/deconstruction process was full-on. It's clear now that the point of the reboot is to slowly build James Bond into the classic Connery or Brosnan character, from the starting point of a bland secret agent template. James Bond is unique; the reboot is out to show us how he got that way. In that respect, I think Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Daniel Craig are doing a fantastic job.

I don't want to see Bond before he was  the bond we know any more than i want to see a star trek film with a captain kirk before we knew him.

Lets make a prequel about a character and focus on their origins.  I don't give a damn about the origins especially if they are changed.

That would be like doing a star wars prequel about Luke Skywalker and casting another actor other than Mark Hamill.  Writing the characters origins differenty and having us see the unintresting part leading up to the good part of the story which should be skipped, and making the character charmless and unlikable.

I would have prerferred them to follow the casino royale book and set it in the same time frame.  Make it prior to the Connery films not set after 911 with a women M, no q no moneypenny and no gadgets.  No suave ladykiller who dresses in fancy clothes and has style and is ruthless.  They only got the ruthless part right.

No Skaken and not stirred, he says do i give a damn.  What a joke.  And Texas Hold'em instead of baccaratt not sure if i spelled that right.

The character comes off as more of an american action hero style bond and wooden and unintresting and bored as dalton.  He is more like Jack Bauer or Bourne than bond.

They might as well get JJ Abrams or Micheal Bay to do the next Bourne Bond, i mean James Bond, lol.

And once again an interesting project thread gets clogged with bitching.  I don't mind anyones opinions, maybe they would get the attention they deserve elsewhere.

Clogged? I see three posts about the validity of the Bond reboot. Is that making it impossible to read the thread or something? It was a brief tangent that was already over.

Also, trying to stop off-topic complaining by complaining off-topic yourself makes as much sense as putting out a fire with gasoline.
