The trailers are donation only as well as the feature or just the feature?

The trailers will go up on Youtube (but links to less compressed versions for most will be for donors, links to less compressed versions for the ROTJ trailer will public).

I should have been more specific will the Bring it On Trailer be made available, sorry for the long wait to respond.

Yes, that trailer as well as the others will all be on youtube (and direct links to better than youtube quality for contributors).

Could someone PM me with a download link or Resilio key to this? I would like to check it out!

I don’t think it is done yet (OP hasn’t messaged me yet at least). And you should contact them directly!

Reel 1 will be ready to start rendering out intermediate PNG outs sometime this week! (overnight while tweaking up AOTC to get ready during the day)

Got to go over reel 1 the last few days (while waiting for split reel type that can handle the cores used on AOTC to arrive, had to order one off ebay as ones I got turned out to not work with cores on AOTC). Did final tuning from general calibration to scan specific calibration. Looking very good. The tweaked base calibration for this scan looks to work super well for pretty much the entire first half of reel 1. Some of the greens are so weird during the helicopter landing that I’ll need to custom tweak for those (actually already did this, made a few custom calibrations for a few sequences there as needed). And then a few bits of the soil and rocks when the lawyer first arrives on the island and walks around don’t come out red enough, eventually I’ll go back and tweak a couple of those scenes up by hand with masking and so on at some point in the future. Everything else is looking really, really good though. Staring back and forth between the actual 35mm print and calibrated scan image for corresponding frame it really looks super, super same, barely any difference looking back and forth between the two and I compared frames from dozens of different scenes across the entire reel.

I’m gonna put out the theatrical 1.81:1 framing one first. Once I get the first 10 minutes or so done, I’ll render out those PNGs to a video file before waiting for the whole reel. It’ll be full release form with audio and all (Dolby analog and Cinema DTS). One day I may try to find out what trailers often played before it and see if I can track them down, scan, process and splice then in front. For now it’s just the basic reel 1. So it will start with the original DTS snipe (included on reel 1 of the print itself) and then go straight into the film.

Here are some links to frames of 35mm scan timed to the 35mm print, most are re-sized to UHD size but a few are full res:

I put these first few in ProPhotoRGB format since these ones definitely have some colors that need wide gamut and get clipped by sRGB regular gamut. If not viewed with a color-managed browser or image viewer they will look really bad though and all faded and weirdly twisted tint. And obviously if not viewed on a wide gamut display set to wide gamut mode you’ll still get the beyond sRGB colors clipped away, mix of 1.85:1 and open matte:

Wow! This is definitely the best looking version of Jurassic Park.

Too bad I can’t afford to contribute to this project in any way, meaning I’ll miss out on this beautiful scan.

Do we know roughly how big the file is going to be?

Photo someone took of JP being played in 1993:

My framing (based on setting 1.85:1 crop and putting top and bottom edges to align with just about the top and bottom of the Universal logo intro starfield and then centering the image left and right within the cropping area so that same space chopped off the left and right sides and with left side area measurement including the whole purple bleed over mess onto the left side of the image as happens with seemingly all prints) basically ends up exactly the same, just a touch more image on L,R,B and the tiniest hair less on the top since a theater can’t be quite so spot on to maximizing without running into issues with accidentally going over (although it seems they were flirting with their top edge going over top of some CGI frames, maybe just barely made it or maybe a hair over). Anyway it seems like that theater probably had it framed super precisely then since it matches what seemed a reasonable way to do it. At first I figured you shouldn’t count the purple area but then you get things like the DTS disc not quite centered. This way pretty much centers it so with everything all cross-checking I believe this is how it should be. And also makes that theater seem to have been doing things very spot on and getting pretty close to maximizing area too.:

Hopefully everything is set properly now. Assuming nothing turns up JP Reel 1 has started rendering out intermediate PNGs for 1.0 release version 1.85:1 framing version! It’ll be done in piecemeal batches of frames since some have no green emulsion lines and some have them in one of a few different spots. And later on in the reel some need custom calibration tweaks for certain scenes. But finally I think JP has begun the process of getting 1.0 rendered out!
.
So that’ll be going on overnights and now back to finishing off (got it started for a few days a few days ago once the split reel that fit the cores arrived and before had to get a few unexpected issues with JP solved so could make best use of this time window I have before busy with other stuff and try to get stuff going before then) getting AOTC finalized and when ready that’ll take over for rendering out first part of reel 1.0 version.

Hey, I would also like to donate if it is still possible!

Update: JP scan now has over 24,000 frames processed since I hit a couple long consistent stretches that could be batched out.

Demo of the first 18 minutes or so of reel 1 has been sent out to donors.
