It's not the heat, .. well, maybe it is the heat. — Page 2

The heat has nothing to do with anything.

Well surely it has to do with something...like my higher than normal electric bill.

I thought it was the global recession/depression and wide spread environmental disasters making everyone depressed.

Wrong word maybe? Could be I should have have said I see a lot more folks Cranky lately. I typically equate crankiness with depression.

Me too...

I have failed to be productive in many ares of my life over the last year.

I know it is most likely just a temporary funk, but a funk none the less. I mean things are truly sad. I've even resorted to posting generic Google photos as my humors contributions to threads here. But, to be honest and serious. It's mostly out of a shear lack of enthusiasm to create anything. My fan edit work has also stopped.  I'm not about to take the sleeping pills or anything, but I can very much see I am not as engaged as I have been or want to be. Now, a lot of my friends also see this in their own lives and have expressed similar thoughts on the subject. From my personal perspective, this is a golden summer for a lot less folks, then it is.

then it's not just me. it is a sad summer. well, not as bright as I would have wanted it to be. I didn't touch a single book, and next month I've got exams. granny has taken the train to senileville for good. and I'm still... alone... :\

of course there are happy moments here and there. just an hour and half ago me and a friend of mine were watching "The Producers" (the one with Wilder & Mostel) and we had our share of laffs!

I find it useful to make a list of things I really want to do, break it down into manageable chunks and give myself a bit of a reward (a small token) when I complete each one.

That way even when my enthusiasm is dipping a little I am at least some of the way there.

Eventually things always pick up.

There is nothing as sad and depressing as an abandoned project (it's a dream unfulfilled).

No just Scotland...though I do smell eggs as I had a fried egg on toast for lunch and I dare not open the window.

Now that is a coincidence. To help me get out of my Funk, I was just mapping out my two week trip to..... Scotland!

Yes; keep your chins up, guys!  I feel the same as Leanardo and FanFiltration about this summer; no motivation--none at all.

Is Bingowings from the UK?  I always thought he was an American.  Well, you learn something every day.

I recommend sunglasses, a brolly, thermal underwear and a spacesuit.

If you find yourself in central Scotland it would be fun to show you around (I'm in Falkirk, which is right between Edinburgh and Glasgow and next to Stirling) so lot's to see if the sun comes up.

Thanks much! I'm still in the early planing stages, and will let you know when I am going to be around your area. I am dependent on my timeshare getting a trade in and the dates could be random. But I will be sure to give warning to all who post here that live in the U.K. when to be on the look out for the guy who will keep trying to drive on the wrong side of the road. *grin*

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.
