It's a mystery to me.... Were Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon aware Padme was actually Queen Amidala in Episode I?

They knew! I always say that when around a friend of mine followed quickly by his retort of They didn’t know! Sometimes masked by coughs, it’s humorous and never gets old (much like the Star Wars movies). What we are referring to is whether or not Obi Wan and Qui Gon were aware Padme was actually Queen Amidala in Episode I. So here is a poll. Did you think based on the first movie that they knew of the Queen’s front? Anakin was surprised… but how about the others? I will also pay those who think they knew (j/k)

Dan

p.s. -> I’m also new, so if this doesn’t create a poll don’t ask me why because I’ve never done this before.

The first path to clear is the path to the bathroom.

It certainly created a poll, Clone. Welcome aboard and a nice start to your reign on the OT.com forum. Good question.

The answer is "banana".

OK - how much am I gonna get for voting on the bearded guy?

[serious]At least Jinn should have known, since he's a Jedi Master and all... after all, he saw through the Trade Fed. scheme, so such simple cover up shouldn't poise too much difficulties to him.

He might have chosen to "play her game" in order to avoid trouble - as we see in the end, having a doppleganger can be useful.

Does this apply to the movie? I don't know, I haven't seen Episode I for some time, even thought it was on TV yesterday...[/serious]

And how many doubles had this ...err... captured guy?? You know, what's-his-name... Santa or Saddam... whatever... they look so similar with beards.

I'm of the opinion that Qui Gon did know and used this mission as a test for Obi Wan.

Voted. I'm with Bossk. Note the lack of surprise on QG's face when she announces it to the Gungans.
