Idea: sharing the Isolated Music Tracks

Is there a way to either share the isolated music tracks for the movies, or offer a list of the cues used, and their order in the movies? I know the ISOMIX-set had isolated score tracks, so maybe it’s a good idea to torrent these tracks separately.

I could use the Jedi track if anyone's got it. (Bo?) =D

Is there any known method of seperating all tracks into their own (SFX,Music,Dialogue) I heard some one awhile back mention trying to do it...now weither they were trying to pick the tracks apart simply using the commercial DVD or Laserdisc I don't know....I know that seperating certain channels will give you a slight isolated music track but never totally complete of dialogue echo and certain SFX that are already blended into the mix.

A "real" separation of dialogue, music and sfx isn't possible, although sometimes it works by taking only the rear surround-channels, which are only used for music and sfx. Unfortunately with Star Wars being the SFX-movies they are, you're always gonna have sound effects in there too. People did it, but the results aren't that satisfying.

Quality- and editing-wise I would prefer building the music tracks from the existing recordings (I guess the 3 2-disc sets of the SE-soundtracks and the 4-disc "Soundtrack Anthology" should contain all material necessary). I suppose that's what the creator of the ISOMIX-set did.

I don't have that set, but if someone could demux those tracks from the discs and upload them somewhere (yousendit.com, megaupload.com, rapidshare.com) they could be spread a little better (and get torrented eventually)

Looking back at this thread, DVDDecrypter in IFO mode can be used to get the soundtracks from a DVD. I vaguely remember following those instructions to Mono my Moth3r ANH.

Also, do not forget the isolated score on the EditDroid set either.........

Yes, I have the isolated score files. But, I think a great many of you already have them as well. Russs15 mentioned the EditDroid set. This is my source and so was the source for ESB classic edition. Would there be any interest in me making all 3 available on absw? Do many of you download from absw or are you still toiling with torrents? The overwhelming majority of postings have gone away from myspleen and now are put on absw. It is soooo much faster! I currently have ROTJ isolated score on my server. If any of you want it, PM me and I'll tell you how to get there.

Thanks MoveAlong, DLing right now.

I prefer torrents, since they're a lot easier to deal with than newsgroups stuff. Adding to that my ISP somehow blocks "alt.binaries"-groups.

Well, paying for a premium newsgroup service is usually required. But if you can afford it, it's no harder to learn than torrents and so much faster. I used to be very leary, it seemed so damned complicated (especially so, being a mac user). I can now download a dvd in around 2 hours. Plus there are no stupid ratios to deal with. Since I got my Giganews account, I have yet to fire up Azureus.

I don't know who else is working on inserting an Isolated Score into ROTJ, but it's not exactly as easy as I had first anticipated. For one thing its over 25 seconds longer than my source video (The Definitive Collection) also, there seems to be cues in there that I can't even hear in the Definitive Collection audio.

After researching the Editdroid thread it seems to be the Definitive Collection video they also used. Anyone have any idea of a possible cause of these anomalies?

Is it even possible to assemble an isolated AOTC and ROTS soundtrack? There are so many unreleased cues that aren't available through commercial ST and various video game sources.

I know the TPM has a complete or near complete isolated score because of the Ultimate Edition CD release.

@MoveAlong:

I have finally managed to subscribe to a usenet-account, and downloading from a.b.starwars works like a charm... so thanks for upping the isolated tracks.

@Tim:

Both AOTC and ROTS used some of TPM's music, so maybe it is possible to reconstruct it. Furthermore I've got a rip from the AOTC-soundtrack taken from the rear channels of the DVD. It is called "Ultimate Edition", but of course it's not official and contains SFX in some parts. But maybe it's good enough to fill in the missing bits.

I assume that setting a DVD player to 2 channels on a 5.1 audio mix DVD will play the rear audio channels...I noticed that alot of 5.1 mixes place the soundtrack in the rear mixed in with a few FX, and dialogue echo...I haven't tried DVD Decrypter in IFO mode, but i'm guessing it will have the same or similar result.
