Is there a computer doctor in the house?

My netbook started choking on Windows 7 updates a few weeks back, and none of the remedies or fixes I've tried thus far have done a damn thing to solve the problem.

Other programs seem to have no problems updating, but Windows update just hangs there forever, and downloads nothing. Any ideas?

In your computer go to: ''C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download'' and delete everything you see in the ''Download'' folder, do not delete the folder itself just the content, then reboot and try again.

Thanks for the reply!

I tried that several days ago, it didn't work. I uninstalled my anti virus, (which lately has seemed to be getting bloated and slowing the system down) and things finally slowly corrected themselves last night. Installed the anti virus I use at home, which does the job with a minimum of fuss. :)

Windows 7 did decide to go update happy, and downloaded all the optional stuff as well, but I'm not complaining. ;)

Glad to hear all is running smooth again :)
