Is it possible to put my Adywan Star Wars/Empire  avchd discs onto my dvd recorder's hdd without losing detail ? . The machine is a Pioneer DVR LX61 D with a 250 gig hdd. The only input seems to be a scart socket , everything else is output ( component , hdmi , scart ) . The player does not play the avchd disc's ! The machine does output at 1080p upscaled , but recording is limited to 480/576 p.

Any ideas ?  Can it be done ?

For AVCHD's, you'd need to own a Blu-ray player or PS3 in order to play them. Never actually made/burned an AVCHD before.

IF you had an external HD connected to a Blu-ray player you could.  IF you had a Blu-ray player that was Wi-Fi capable you could network it to your PC and stream them from there.

These are the only two ways I know aside from burning the discs and watching it in a Blu-ray machine.  One can create the AVCHD file structure with tsMuxeR then burn to disc with imgburn UDF 2.50.

If it's already in the AVCHD structure then you only need imgburn & UDF 2.50 to finish it off.

Nero will do it, here is an easy tutorial to follow.  It worked wonders for me.
