Sure, I and many others hated him in Titanic, but that is like judging the acting of Bill Murray by Charlies Angels.

Am I the only person who thinks it unfitting that people give him the moniker "Decrapio"?

He was very good in the basketball diaries. I hated him in Gangs of New York.

He's okay, but there's other actors who are way worse than him.

DiCaprio really hasn't done anything beyond Titanic. I mean...okay, he did "Catch me if you Can" and that was pretty good, but I haven't seen him in anything else personally.

Ehhhh *shrugs shoulders*, he's an actor. I still don't see what the big deal was the movie Titanic and how it made so much money anyway. It seemed more like a fluke than a real ground breaking movie. Everyone was seeing it because America needed a new heart throb and Leonardo was in the right place at the right time.

Personally, I saw Titanic. It was a fine movie, but nothing that I obsessed over. Hell, I don't even own the movie. I only saw it once in the theater. That was enough.

And even though it surpassed Star Wars in box office money, that is only calculated by 1977 ticket prices with 1997's. Add inflation for today's ticket prices and Star Wars made over 1 BILLION dollars at the box office. I. Shit. You. Not.

I just can't imagine being intimidated seeing DiCaprio walking down the street toward me at the head of a rival gang. In fact, I think it would encourage me! He weighs about as much as my daughter.

I think he's so damn overrated. All I ever heard of during the 90's was "Leo DiCaprio Leo DiCaprio Leo DiCaprio". God, it's been a looooong time since Gilbert Grape.

yes, DiCaprio is a very good actor.

Why all the hate? Backlash from Titanic, which of course is very overrated. Its actually a pretty decent flick, mostly the second half, but because it was upheld as this amazing piece of work at the time, it was all blown way out of preportion and so of course everyone backlashed, and in retrospect it was very unfair. Its not unlike what happened to TPM.

DiCaprio hasnt done SO much considering that Titanic is nearly a decade old now (gasp! where did the time go?) but he has still appeared in some movies and has proven himself to be a very gifted actor--both before and after that silly boat movie. I mean Basketball Diaries, What Eating Gilbert Grape, Marvin's Room, The Quick and the Dead, Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator. He's had a lot of really good movies, and even his worst ones, Titanic and The Beach, are actually quite good films with pretty decent performances.

People who hate him dont hate his acting ability, they hate his reputation as a heartthrob, and really its only because of Romeo and Juliet (a pretty interesting flick) and that one movie from 1997, which is actually not that bad. He hasnt had any other "boyish" roles since then because all the teenage girls went nuts. He's very underrated.

He is a good actor. Unfortunately, the hype machines got a hold of him for a while, and he's still trying to live it down. The Aviator was a good step. Let's see what's next before passing judgment.

DiCaprio just seems to be average in his acting abilities. He was very overrated in Titanic.

I think there's a difference between being a good actor, and having range. In my opinion, he can definitely act (and do it well). He just has no range. (re: DiCaprio)

I was interested in the life of Howard Hughes before the Aviator was made, and I personally think DiCaprio done a fine job portraying him. DiCaprio is ok by me.

War does not make one great.
