Is Part 4 of anything ever good?? — Page 4

Alien Resurrection is a Part 4 that is good.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

I'll still vouch for Alien 3, but if I ever have to sit through Alien: Erection again, I'll intend to gouge out my own eyes and stuff them into my ears, hopefully it will make the experience just tolerable enough for me to make it through the film without having to end my own life, which I would be prepared to do if such an unbearable misfortune were to become a reality.

I think I'd actually rather suffer through watching Attack of the Clones* for a third time over watching Alien Resurrection for the second time.

*Though I really pissed off my friends by doing so, I am kind of proud to say the first time I watched Attack of the Clones I left twenty minutes or so in to go meet up with and make out with a girl I liked. Upon my return, which was after the end credits had rolled, I got some heavy "bros before hoes" lecturing. I felt kind of guilty about it and regretted not getting to see the film for the first time with my buddies, but in retrospect, I definitely made the right decision.

You guys are doing it wong. This thread is about twooffour's superiority complex.

Who cares about twooffour?

The age old debate of hoes versus bros is much more interesting....

twister PSA to those such as twooffour who fail at making a joke. As a person whom has personally experienced a joke fail in the past, I have learned the proper ways to deal with such situational appearances.

If someone on the interwebs is stating they don't understand the reason why you posted that out of place item. Recognize your joke has failed for them at least. They are either most likely perplexed why you posted that (CP3S & doubleKO appear to be this) or, a troll (CP3S & doubleKO are not this).

In either case the proper way to approach this situation is several different ways. Amongst which include just shrugging it off ex. "It was just a joke man. Seems it failed for you. *shrug*" Or creating another joke out of it ex. "What do you mean? George Lucas is wrong with his numbering system??? *gasp* How DARE you?! He has billions of money. I bet the guy can count to 4!!!! {/sarcasm}"

What you shouldn't do is go through pages of ranting over the justification of the joke. Takes whatever funny there was in it out and, dissects it into a science experiment with no cake!!!! *sniff* I wants my companion cube!!!! Oh, sorry, um yeah. What I said before.

That's some good advice. Maybe I should have added a :) or ;) to be more clear that my "How dare you" was also in fun, but IN YOUR FACE is how twobyfour seems to like it... For the record I didn't think he was serious calling them "predecessors", but heed the PSA twooffour - brevity is the soul of wit.

Ditch that philosophy now and it'll save you a lot of grief.

A great many hoes come and go, but good bros will never leave you.

I have to say this phrasing has always left me scratching my head a bit.  I guess because it's so gender exclusive.  That and its feminine counterpart, "chicks before dicks."  I presume the message is about putting your close friends before a random piece of tail.  Good advice, I suppose.  So what if you're a dude and have all female friends?  I guess they can't be "bros."  So does that mean they're "hoes"?  Well, that doesn't sound very nice.  And if that's the case, who are the "bros"?  And why should you be putting them before your friends?  And what if you're gay?  Then that statement becomes REALLY confusing.  I mean, I guess the crux of the message still works on a common sense level:  that you should trust your friends over a random hooker you happen to meet on the street.  But why would gay me feel inclined to do otherwise in the first place considering the allure of sex is no longer a concern?  Or is it just a message that you should stay close to members of your own biological sex over anyone else no matter the actual relationship?

I'm confused.  I should go to bed.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

For the record (and I've already mentioned it somewhere here, but no one should be expected to find it) I CAUGHT your "in fun" remark, and the "predecessors" part was PLAYING ALONG.

But there was no funny in there in the first place, so what the heck :)

But hey, I just said something about a "humor transplant", and then making ANOTHER JOKE about brain size - I didn't start the whole justification rant thing until CP got seriously offended and butthurt. Which is just hilarious.

I clarified this for twister's benefit as she said I seemed perplexed. I UNDERSTAND that you CAUGHT it and were PLAYING ALONG, no need to SHOUT!

It's a bit weird that you find offending and "butthurting" someone hilarious, maybe that's why we are having trouble with your sense of humour. It is good to see that your posts are becoming shorter :)

Well it depends over what, and if it's a lame joke that was never meant to be offensive in the first place (unless, you know, read at face value), then yes, it's absolutely hilarious, and I doubt you really find that "weird".

Yea, LW4 was pretty slick, I think...

doubleKO, thank god you put "butthurting" in quotes! That phrase should never be allowed to roam free among other words. Of it must be repeated, keeping it safely contained between quotation marks is most certainly for the best.
