Interesting Dave Prowse interview at Rebelscum

Didn't have time to listen to the whole thing yet, but so far it's very interesting. I never knew Prowse wasn't informed that his voice was dubbed. Since he wasn't too fond of not getting a chance to deliver Vader's lines in a redub, I wonder how he felt about Sebastian Shaw representing Vader's true face instead of him.

LOL, yeah poor guy. Sorry David, but we are going to have to have someone else dub your lines, sorry pal, your voice just isn't good enough.

Two films later... Sorry David, but we are going to have to have someone else wear the suit for the final scene, sorry pal, your face just isn't good enough, we'll be using a face double.

Hmm, I wonder how he'd feel if, as someone else suggested might happen, Lucas digitally inserted Hayden's Vader suit into the original trilogy over Prowse's Vader suit.

(And we all know Lucas would probably do it if he had the money and time.)

You do know that is a TFN podcast right?

I refuse to Listen to their Podcasts since they have Jar Jar audio clips and Jedi Rocks song in their program.

They are also a bunch of Lucas Kool Aid drinking ass kissers, who love the special editions and the prequels, and everything that has been done to the EU.

They never talk about the need for the oot to be restored in their podcasts, or the significance of the original films.  In short they are not for the cause and are a part of the problem preventing those movies getting a proper release on DVD since they help George Lucas keep them buried.

Saga fans they call themselves, lol.  The six film tradgedy of Darth Vader, makes me want to puke.

When are they going to learn to stop giving Lucas undeserved worship and attention.  Stop going to those silly celebrations and buying his crappy merchandise and action figures.

Make the man richer who has every intention of the original films being lost forever.  The legacy of the star wars trilogy is now a 1993 non anamorphic laserdisc transfer bonus disc.

Letting Dave Prowse tell his side of the story about the rift between him and George is hardly ass kissing. (Not to mention his disappointment at not being able to play Vader in ROTS.)

And the Mark Hamill story made me smile.

I hope they get Peter Mayhew for one of these. I'd like to hear some of those on the set stories from the book Lucas allegedly scuttled!

Maybe I'm weird, but I've never considered Prowse as on-screen Vader. JEJ's voice is Vader for me... everytime... even if he stars completely different role ;)

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

I enjoyed the interview. I got the impression from past interviews that Prowse didn't like Mark Hamill very much, so the story about Mark signing all the autographs for the charity was nice. :-)

That was actually a really cool interview. Too bad people like Skyjedi won't listen to it on account of it being from TFN (though I must admit, the over long excessive opening with random clips from various movies is really annoying, but once you get past that bit, it is well worth listening too.

Prowse even talks negatively about the prequels, dismissed the Clone Wars series, talks about George being a strange director, and says he though Hayden did an awful job as Darth Vader and looked like Frankenstein. Prowse said that he actually wanted to do the part and was available to do the part, but it was in Hayden's contract that he could play the role of Vader if he wanted too. It is ashame really, it would have been excellent to have had Prowse in the suit and on the screen again.

Also, I found it cool to learn he was the man behind the suit in Rebel Assult II. I knew it was JEJ's voice, but I had no idea they actually went through the trouble to have Prowse wear the suit.
