we are not using the red prints for anything.

they were purely a test. we may use some frames

if they have less grain.

the lpp source and other THINGS are all we need

for releasing it...

we haven't transferred alll the red reels, but if we

do, i'm just keeping them for my own version..

the grindhouse, and grindhouse+deleted scene versions will

be the LPP with very slight noise removal, and

some of the more difficult scenes fixed.

Amazing!!!

I've never heard Star Wars sound this good! Maybe it's my ears, but I haven't ever noticed the echo of Leia's voice in that scene.

 Just an idea but wood it be possible to apply the Color information from the LPP to the red print?

Get the LPP coloring but the grain of the Red print?

but that would be another project

I like seeing the experiments you guys have done with the test reel. Thanks for sharing! If you can do that much with this I can only wonder what the real deal's gonna look like.

What immediately strikes me is just how good the original lightsabers looked.  They didn't need to be redone for the DVD- they look smooth here, and colorful enough.

The smoke really does stand out to me.  It seems organic and real.  It's little things like this that totally destroyed the special editions for me.  Like when Vader boards the tantive there is no longer a cloud of smoke swirling in front of and past him. It's now like some kind of weird 2 dimensional layer of smoke clinging to his costume.  Seems like a small thing but I see it every time and it instantly makes me angry.  Instead of enjoying the scene I get angry about how the scene is Fubar.  Thanks for posting these. I really enjoyed seeing a few scenes without the weird coloring or smearing.

i tried posting a full 11 minute composite

clip on vimeo.. but it took 2 days to convert,

and then wouldn't play.. so i deleted it..

looking into dailymotion... of course youtube

would delete the video.. so i can't post it

there either..
