Hey there, everyone!!!

I’m getting started with DVD Lab Pro to author my set of the OT. I need some pointers.

Is there a template or something for how I should make the menu?

I’m just going to do a regular still menu that simply has PLAY and CHAPTERS, so I need to know if there is a specific size or whatever to make good looking DVD menus using DVD Lab Pro.

Absolutely any info on the whole process of making DVD menus would be greatly appreciated…

No one can give me what picture size I should be using when making a menu picture in Photoshop?

NTSC or PAL

1.85:1, 2.35:1 or

Anamorphic or 4:3?

all of this has a bearing on what size your picture should be.

NTSC is 720 x 480
PAL is 720 x 576

non anamoprhic 2.35:1 NTSC is 720 x 236
non anamorphic 2.35:1 PAL is 720 x 360

Anamorphic 2.35:1 NTSC is 720 x 360
Anamorphic 2.35:1 PAL is 720 x 430

that's a starting point but you need to give us some idea of what your using etc for more detail.
When a woman says yes, she means no - when she says maybe, she means no.

Just looking to take the original art for Star Wars, ESB and ROTJ and format it to a still picture with PLAY and CHAPTERS somewhere....

Nothing really fancy actually....

Do you mean by menu picture the background picture? DVD-lab will adjust background pictures to the right size so it doesn't matter what size it is. But as Tellan said, keep the aspect ratio in mind.

Do you want to make the background + text/buttons etc in DVD-lab or in photoshop? Since you just want a basic I would just add a background and add the text in DVD-lab. Then use "add scene selection menu" after you made chapter points in the movie.
