I'lll see what I can do. It looks really good. Much better than you'd expect from something shot on video.

I have the "200 Motels" LD and VHS. I have placed the movie on a CDR along with the long out of print Zappa made "True Story of 200 Motels" video documentry.
The problem with this film is the BAD SOUND. It's a sad example of how this movie was made on such a low budget, and how no care was taken by the Producers {NOT ZAPPA} to save anything of value from this production. All the master Video Tapes of the shot footage had been erased and the used tape stock sold for extra production cash.

The films soundtrack was not recorded in the same way that other Zappa albums had been, so there is a noticable lower quility to the sound of the recordings. Much of the mucic was recoorded on the film's soundstage, and not in a normal music recording studio.

I also have Uncle Meat, Video From Hell, The Amazing Mr. Bickford, and the never released "Burnt Weenie Sandwich" short Film. I have lots of other Zappa video, but what I am looking for is the The A&E Biography: Frank Zappa

FanFiltration, you're still welcome to contact me privately about my (S)VCD's if you want.
However, I should tell you (and anyone else interested) that DVD torrents of this A&E program, as well as the BBC programme from whence it was repackaged, are both listed on the zappateers tracker.
Holler at me if you need help locating the individual torrents.

Any and all Zappa fans should get aquainted with the zappateers tracker.
You won't find official releases there -- not even out-of-print ones like 200 Motels -- but it's definitely the place to go for unofficial videos and concert recordings.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

That was the part that killed it for me, having to learn just how stupid those producers were in selling out the master tapes for scrap rather than preserving anything for a possible release we could've had today, where the video could've been released at a 24p state without the need for the film print whatosever. Wonder if we could do that technique the BBC has been using in trying to get the video-look in their kinescopes lately (often think this film should be run at 25fps since it sounds a tad slow at 24).

So I'm looking at an Amazing Mr. Bickford Beta tape. Would anyone be able to assist in a high quality capture from said tape?
