Hey there everyone!!!

I’ve heard that there are custom DVD menus that ppl have made.

Can someone point me in the right direction on where I can find them?

I can download these and then just use them in a DVD authoring program when I burn DVDs of the OT for myself, right?

nope - the menus that are being talked about are menus in DVD's that are already made sorry.

- I'm sure someone would make menus for you if you requested it

It really depends on the nature of the menu, and the software that is used to create it. I personally love DVDLab-Pro. I started using DVDLab Because Sony DVD Architect didn't allow for much leway - such as button navigation. I then switched over to Pro because it allowed for more than one soundtrack (My first Star Wars DVD had 3 soundtracks. )

Anyways, my menus have both static pictures and video, and have some complicated navigation between menus and submenus. DVDLab Pro uses a visual flowchart to help me lay out and plan navigation between menus, as well as forcing various choices (audiotrack, etc.) It's fairly easy to start using, but has a lot of advanced features that are fun to find and experiment with. That being said, you would have to actually run the program, as well as load all the multimedia files I used to really see how everything comes together.

Menus, when compiled into a DVD no loger are editable or usable for other projects as they are.
You have to have the saved DVD project, and the required uncompiled video and audio streams.
Having ripped the clips though, and with a proper DVD authoring tool (like DVD lab that MeBe mentioned) , you could reconstruct them.
There is also the option of using DVD remake pro, and deleting all the movie blocks, just to keep the menus. You could afterwards add another movie's blocks in their place, but you would have to edit the menu's commands as to re-direct to the movie blocks you have added. This is a very time-consuming and painfull proccess if you ask me...
The best solution would be to download the whole DVD and use it "as is" if you are not very experienced on that field.
So here's a list of the available OT DVD with menus you could search for and acquire:

Row47 7 disc set
Editdroid 3 disc set
Dr.Gonzo's 4 disc set
Isomix 3 disc set
Punk13 3 disc set
Look 3 disc set
Quality Broth 3 disc set

I think you could find this link helpfull.

There is also the Farsight ANH disc with menus I made for Rowman, so he is the only man you could acquire this disc from.

Edit:: PS. MeBeJedi, thanks a lot for the DVD lab prog suggestion. I have used it for something like a month now, and it is indeed an awsome prog.
And now, for your feature presentation:
The Classic Re-re-re-release of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back.
In this version the word "WOOKIE" has been changed to "HAIR CHALLENGED ANIMAL" and the entire cast has been digitally replaced by Ewoks.

How does the Row47 have 7 discs? Are there 4 supplemental discs?

I really want the supplementals (of any set - don't care which), so which ones would you guys recommend?

Yes, the row47 set has 3 extras discs (1 for each film) and there also is the supplemental material disc for the trilogy.
The farsight extras is available at myspleen, and has quite the same contenet as the Dr. Gonzo's extras (they both are transfers of the "Definitive collection" extras)
I would recommend Dr. Gonzo's because of the menus and still galleries, and the Rowman's set because of their content, which is not on the other discs.

Isn't it! And it keeps getting better and more powerful, too!

Looks great! Can't wait to see it in its entirety.

If you really wanted to pilfer static menus from other DVDs for your own, it's entirely possible in DVD-lab. Well, pretty much. If you take a cap of the menu you want, drop it in as an image on a blank menu you're working on, you can create shapes around certain areas of the image where the selections would be. This will make an opaque shape. Set that shape to be white and then, under the "Transparency" selection, click the left arrow once and that will make the shape clear.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.
