Info Wanted: dvd.starwars.com archive (anyone archived it before it went down?)

Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back had the script feature with the shooting scripts.  For some reason they never did one for jedi which pissed me off being a fan of return of the jedi.

The new star wars site is shit.  all the old features and articles are gone.  90% of the stuff is garbage whether or not you have hyperspace or don't have hyperspace, even the magazine has been garbage ever since andy mangels left.

It is a giant rag on how great lucas is and is almost an advertisement brochure with some pictures and text.

“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

Looks like archive.org has various snapshots.  The Flash features don't seem to work though.  http://dvd.starwars.com" target="_blank" title="web.archive.org/web/*/http://dvd.starwars.com">http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://dvd.starwars.com

Thanks Ryanvb,

I did take a look at the Wayback Machine, but as far as I could tell, they are just archives of the 'landing page' which prompted you to insert the disc into your computer.

I must admit, I didn't try hitting the archive with the DVD in the drive - I just figured that wouldn't work.

I think Adywan may have included the online commentaries in his AVCHD releases of ANH and ESB.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

*sorry for the lame posts, they would get screwy on their own then editing seems to not work for me*  Yeah, I tracked down every back issue and subscribed to the Insider for a whole number of years there.  Then sometime after the release of Sith the whole thing went to crap.  It became a complete waste of paper and I cancelled.  Was there a sw.com commentary for Empire?  I though that there was just one for New Hope.

Can anyone confirm that there was just the one SW.COM Insider commentary for New Hope, or did any of other episodes get one too?

I never could get the damn thing to work with any SW DVD. What exactly was on there?

I'll second that. I was excited and curious when I got mine and checked, but never found a thing... well I take that back, I did notice a "text commentary" for Episode II once, but it seemed like such a boring idea (watching the movie in a tiny window while I read plain text at the bottom... felt cheap).

If they're going to provide extra content not on the disc, they should let you download and keep it, especially if they're going to just get rid of it in a few years.

Hello there!

I have just posted the in Depth commentary of Episode I on a.b.starwars. I manually saved the content and change the html/css back then in order that it is playable without internet access and looks more pretty. You will need to install the dvd software provided on the disc.

Sadly, I didn't get the other text commentaries .

You can grab the commentary from rapidshare as well:

http://rapidshare.com/files/390123539/starwars_episode_1_dvd.starwars.com_official_text_commentary.zip.html">http://rapidshare.com/files/390123539/starwars_episode_1_dvd.starwars.com_official_text_commentary.zip.htmlhttp://rapidshare.com/files/390123539/starwars_episode_1_dvd.starwars.com_official_text_commentary.zip.html

The goal would be to create a dvd (blu-ray) subtitle track out of it.
