Info Wanted: Spinal Tap workprint SVCD...

This set is out there, and I’ve heard that it has a few more minutes than the “normal” 270-min. workprint that was easy to obtain a few years ago. But is it worth looking for, considering the lousy quality of VCD (even if it is a boot tape transfer) and the fact that it’s cut into a couple of discs?

Now that you speak of "Spinal Tap", does anyone out there have the original now-out-of-print Criterion DVD of this? It has features that are different from MGM's current release...someone could do a dub of this for fans, unless...

I have a CD-ROM of the Criterion version, in a big, awkward box.

Yep, it came out on CD in Japan. They're big in Japan.

I don't have the SVCD of the workprint, but I have it on DVD-R. I got it from a guy who's a pretty fair authority on Spinal Tap and I think he would have mentioned if there was anything any different out there. The only annoying thing is the audio is out of sync for some reason, I've been meaning to fix that.

Also, I don't have a real copy of the Criterion DVD. I have the commentary as an MP3 and a DivX file of the original short. Both are mighty entertaining, though.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I have the Criterion DVD. It was a flipper disk BTW. SO 1 DVD = 2DVD-Rs.
