I’m curious if there are any original unaltered mono tracks for mad max (1979) since The 5.1 Remix sucks

The (recent) 4k UHD of Mad Max by Kino Lorber might well have what you’re looking for 😃
LightWave = fun times with gfx for me 😃
I have the original Roadshow Home Video VHS, but that one is quite rare.
The original mono track is on the Kino Lorber 4K and blu-ray
I should know cause I had to help prove to everyone that it wasn’t a downmix

The Mono found on the Kino Blu Ray is again a down mix of 5.1.

No it’s not, I actually have the proof that it’s the legitimate domestic theatrical mix, I can share my video if you want
That fool who made that comparison video (and refuses to take it down despite being proven wrong) didn’t realize he actually used the European mix which used the Australian dub but used several sound effects from the American mix (the American mix in addition to changing the dub also added many sound effects that weren’t in the Australian mix), essentially meaning the European mix is a hybrid between the domestic and American tracks

The Australian track is the original audio and the American English is the dub, FYI.

I know, but I’m correcting the guy above who said Kino’s 4K release has the Aussie 5.1 downmix rather than the legitimate Aussie mono track, which it does have the original
It’s the European mix that utilizes the Aussie audio but adds various amounts of the sound effects from the American mix

Is the European mix even included on the Kino Lorber 4K release? It’s sitting on my shelf and I’m too lazy to look.

Does this mono mix have the original SFX?

Yes it does, but the “missing” sound effects that comparison video claims were there originally were part of the European mix (and not the original domestic mix) which was a hybrid between the Aussie and American mixes, I had to track down a 1985 Australian broadcast of the movie to prove this
The European track is not included on the 4K release

I’ll PM you the audio track later
