Info Wanted: Gettysburg - 270 min LD cut - has anyone done a preservation of this?

Hey guys,
I’ve been reading a lot about a 270min cut of the film Gettysberg this evening, although information is few and far between, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there has been a preservation attempt on this film? The theatrical cut on DVD is “only” 254mins (the longest theatrically released film). Love to see this in it’s entirety, just about forked out for a 3LD set earlier on ebay before realising there were 2 cuts on LD and this was the same as the DVD. Does a site exist that details what LDs (or their features) have not made it over to DVD…? Never come across one in my travels, would be a gem of a resource.

There's a copy of the collector's box set for sale here, which contains the extended cut. I haven't seen any transfers of this but it might be interesting.

Yeh I saw that, but starting bids at $50 with a reserve and postage to the UK would be a lot, the guy would likely be looking for $100 for this one. Be nice if someone would could actually do something with the discs and transfer them won it, although the extras in the pack to look very slick...
