I would love a copy of the hiphats criterion 3 disc set. I am in the UK though, and I think hiphats won't send them there..... :-( can anyone help?

His is a fan edit that creates a very long version of the film BUT it is NOT a tranfer of the Criterion LD's

just see this : "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" will be screening throughout the month of January. The presentation is of the film's original 1977 cut. The film is presented in 1080i and 5.1 surround sound. The January screenings mark the first time that "Close Encounters" has been presented in high-def on HDNet Movies.

is anybody planning to record it on dvd ?

Theatrical cut of a film that's never been available commercially ?
I think there would be plenty of interest for it.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I will do this after I finish The Evil Dead II & The Gate HD2DVD Projects I have going now,also just finished From Beyond and Kong's 33 & 76,and for ME,Conan The Barbarian HD2DVD,ALL my projects now are HD2DVD.
now to see if my art guy is up for making me some artwork for Close Encounters.

I have a lot of Hi Res Pics of CE3K so I will make a cover. I can make your cover if you want. Just send me your dvd template, so I can match the Close Encounters cover with the rest of your dvd releases.

I definitely am interested in the theatrical cut!! Does anyone have the cut scenes from the laserdisc? They would make excellent supplements. I've never seen them!

Hi Ash595,
we dont really have a template,but I do have logo's that I use for my HD2DVD stuff(you can see it in the lower right corner of my sig),My art guy is pretty swamped right now with some of my other stuff,and not sure if he even is interested in this one,so I will probably take you up on this,I will keep you posted on whats what with CE3K.
I do have it downloaded and it looks very very nice and in DD 5.1,will you make matching disc art as well?
its kind of funny I didnt think anyone would be interested LOL
