Info Wanted: Babylon 5 The Gathering Original Pilot - has anyone done a preservation?

I was wondering if anyone is working on or has done a preservation disc for the original pilot of Babylon 5. The first aired cut of the pilot contains different scenes and different music from the TNT editon already on DVD. I have a columbia house VHS of the original cut.

There is a Japanese Laserdisc of this out there somewhere, but there would be pesky subtitles to deal with.

Where were you in '77?

I remember reading something about them updating the special effect or something. I believe that's the only version out stateside. I never saw the original airing, so I can't compare to my tape of it.

One of the most notable changes was Sinclair and Lyta's walk through the Alien Sector. It more resembled a zoo instead of living quarters and was cut from the TNT re-release.

If you've got video out and a capture card, you should be able to redirect it and recapture it. You'll probably lose some quality in the process, but it'll work.
