Info Wanted: Avengers (1998) - original cut & final version - a workprint...

According to IMDB the original cut of the Avengers movie (Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes) shown to test audiences was 25 minutes longer than the final version.

Considering how choppy and plot-hole written this film was, has anyone heard, seen or smelt of a workprint of this?

My very guilty pleasure can get longer??

The original tv series partially inspired the Bond film series, the remake film was garbage.

One of the most crap and phoned in performances by Sean Connery.  Fiennes and Thurman both looked bored as hell.

None of the sexiness, gadgets or fisticuffs of the original series.

Bad script check, bad direction check.  Uma almost as bad here as in Batman and Robin.

All of the above are completely true. I adore the original series. But for some strange reason I actually want to go back and watch this train wreck again.

In the late 90's studios started cutting films after bad tests pretty frequently. Not sure why they would take all of that effort to trim a finished product. Some films like The Saint had entire new endings and other scenes shot.

OMG, I almost forgot about the Saint movie.  All I remember is sitting too close to the screen in the theater and having giant Val Kilmer stuble in my face the whole time.
