It would just be nice to have a one stop source to know what theatrical or otherwise rare sound tracks can be found if one wants to sync them to a bluray or udh bluray or even webdl in some cases. 😃

The 70mm split surround 5.1 test track for the original superman movie is on the 2018 UHD bluray release, it was removed in favor of the 35mm dolby stereo mix in the 2023 re-release of its uhd.

The original 1989 dolby stereo mix for the little mermaid is only on its 1990 laserdisc and vhs release. The 1997 theatrical remix’s dolby stereo is on the 1998 laserdisc, the 1997 theatrical ac3 remix is on the 1998 laserdisc as well as the 1999 dvd.

The 70mm 4.1 track for Alien(1979) is in lossless format on its UHD release, and lossy 640kbps ac3 on seemingly all of its bluray releases. A pre-release 4.1 soundmix is available in ac3 on the 1995 laserdisc.

The 70mm 4.1 track for Aliens(1986) is in lossy 640kbps ac3 on seemingly all of its bluray releases.

Terminator 2 has its 5.1 CDS soundtrack on the 1997 dvd and its accompanying laserdisc, as well as a rare japanese dvd in full bitrate DTS.

The 1998 laserdisc for who framed roger rabbit has a 5.1 ac3 track that is supposed to be based off of its dolby 70mm sound mix.

The 3.0 sound track for lady and the tramp is available on its blurays.

The 4.0 mix for sleeping beauty is available on its blurays.

The 70mm sound mix for the black cauldron is the main track on its bluray.

The 4.1 70mm mix for top gun is on both its 1997 laserdisc and its original run dvd.

The theatrical ac3 5.1 mix for toy story is on its laserdisc.

The theatrical ac3 5.1 mix for lion king is on its laserdisc.

The theatrical ac3 5.1 mix for “the mask” is on its laserdisc releases from after ac3 was put onto laserdiscs.

The disney laserdisc release of kiki’s delivery service has an ac3 5.1 track that was only included on this relase and was presumably use for its showing at the Seattle International Film Festival.

The theatrical ac3 5.1 mix for starwars episode one is on its japanese laserdisc.

The 1997 laserdisc release of Rocky had a semi unique 5.1 mix that was only released on it, the accompanying dvd, and the 2003 DTS(half bit rate) dvd. the other dvds and blurays have a slightly different less boomy mix.

Thats all i care about off the top of my head but i know there are others.

The Special Longer Cut on the complete adventure 4K set essentially has the original mix too but is exclusive to that cut

The theatrical cut on the same disk is the same 7.1 track as before

Post em on archive.org they likely won’t get taken down.

Any old paramount dvd release with the widescreen banner on the bottom likely has the theatrical mix

Other titles
deep impact, black rain, Truman show, days of thunder

The theatrical ac3 5.1 mix for starwars episode one is on its japanese laserdisc.

The original mixes for a lot of 90s/00s can be found on Cinema DTS discs such as for example for TPM mentioned above.

If you’re referring to the 2.0 tracks on those DVDs then likely they aren’t, Paramount created a lot of 2.0 downmixes of 5.1 tracks those DVDs had because at that time a lot of players weren’t 5.1 comparable and weren’t the best at automatically downmixing them

no some of the 5.1 's . I know the DVD 2.0 of Witness is a downmix cause it has the same SFX as the 5.1 and the LD has the original SFX.

Airplane and Grease had downmixes as well

Did Witness have new sound effects?

The gunshots during the shoot out in the car park are altered a bit to sound more modern on the dvd / blu-ray

Pet sematary dvd 2.0 might be original track not sure but I prefer it over the 5.1 on the 4k.
