 (Edited)

To coincide with codester’s release of the ewoks complete series, anyone interested in a Droids complete series release?

The official Droids was released by Fox last November.
It didn't include all the episodes, nevertheless it's the only one that can claim the title "official"

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Well, in "official" I didn't mean THE official release, of course! But, would anyone be even remotely interested in a private, official release? Similar to codester's?

I am sure if you make they will come.

I know of two existing sets of the full Droids series, a multi-disc set and a single disc (I'm pretty sure these aren't produced by the same person). The single disc version is available on MySpleen already (and is the only version I have).

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

Thanks. I'm going to start on these soon.

Well, I'm hoping to use the best bootlegs available on the net, along with the official release from last November to create these. It will likely end up being a three-disc set. Any ideas for bonus features?

If you can find it, the uncut version of the cartoon from the Holiday Special. Ask either ocpmovie or SKot about getting that.

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I already downloaded that here: http://www.originaltrilogy.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=2989&highlight_key=y&keyword1=holiday

I could edit it into the regular cartoon segment and put that as an extra, or put the cartoon by itself, and the deleted scene as an extra of its own. Any other ideas for bonus features?

Do you mean the opening speech C-3PO gave on the Star Tours ride? I have that, I downloaded it a while back. I could include the Star Tours ride videos on the discs. Hmm...

you should do this cause god knows lucas never will, he will never bow to the likes of us classic star wars fans.

As a part of the bonus features, how about the clips of Sesame Street with R2D2 and C3P0? And I also think they did a anti-smoking spot too, if I remember correctly. That might also be good to include.

Yeah, well, the droids did that really stupid ad about anti-smoking. I haven't been able to locate that particlular ad. Maybe someone could help me out. I've heard that the droids on sesame street shows even had deleted scenes that some collectors have on tape.

I have the Sesame Street stuff on VHS. The only deleted scenes stuff that I know about is that they have the raw footage, with the director, cast, and crew wandering the set right before "action" . I wouldn't mind sending it to you to include, but it is a multi-generational copy and I'm sure someone has to have a better quality copy than I do. You might want to check with Rikter or something. If not let me know. But some of it is pretty funny, like the scene were R2 falls in love with the fire hydrant and R2's secret message for Oscar. As for the anti-smoking ad, I have no idea where to find it. I just vaugely remember seeing it as a kid when it aired.

I have heard very few who actually have this. I know the actual episodes themselves aren't hard to find, but the BTS footage I have never been able to find. I'll check with Rikter. By the way, I hope to start working on this project this weekend. It'll probably end up being four discs.

Come thinking about it, I may just release a Droids DVD set. Still thinking about it though.
Rock. Nirvana. Awsomeness.

Thanks. So it was part of star tours? At what point did they show that? I might have to use that version you sent. The quality of it isn't that far off from the rarities disc clips from star tours.

OK. Off topic, you didn't recognize me over on TF.N, I like to have different identities on the net. Back to topic, on the disney site, they actually have a different video from the ride I havn't seen before. How does one go about capturing steaming video?

Can anyone reccomend any good dvd cover creators? I like the one over at grisan's site, but not the front part of it. Anyone know where to get a free or free trial of software to make these?
