Some of that stuff was really quite surreal, especially the explanation on how long it takes to shoot one second of footage with the stop-motion Tauntaun. I doubt you would be seeing much of that craftmanship in modern films today, seeing as how everyone is relying on CGI-laden effects. I also liked the original Yoda head with the goofy eyes. Great stuff!
Can someone please explain something? It seems like there is an overlap of a small amount of footage between the Michel Parbot documentary and the official documentary that we've all seen. How could this be?
Originally posted by: Darth Neo I have found someone who has tapes of those shows (the 5 second clip of Mark Hamill). It is called Avro's Telebingo and was presented by Mies Bouwman. I will contact him if he has the show that featured Mark Hamill.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. But if you mean an overlap between SPFX: making of Empire and The making of The Empire Strikes Back by Michel Parbot, that's because Michel Parbot was the cameraman on both documentaries.
p.s. The Website will be released on Tuesday night at the latest.....
- The E-channel: behind the scenes of Star Wars - Star Wars: an mtv movie special - Oprah: star wars special - Star Wars: the magic and the mystery - SciFi Channel special: the force returns - Mark Hamill Interviews (The big breakfast and GMTV) - George Lucas Interview (The big breakfast)
Just let me know if anyone is interested (website launches tomorrow!!!)
Thank you SO much for your contributions. Have joined RAPIDSHARE and downloaded the STAR WARS/A NEW HOPE stuff-it's terrific. Is the Parbot EMPIRE footage link still working?-I keep keying it in but RAPIDSHARE says it can't find the file?
I've tried the YOUSENDIT conversion but for some reason, even with the ANTIVIRUS security turned off, it won't get past the sign in on my machine.
Didn't the Magic and The Mystery a Sci-Fi channel special about the making of the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition? I think it is on OCPmovies' Special Edition Hype. It isn't bad, but it is pretty similar to the other SE making of specials they had, even using much of the same interview clips.

I think you're right. I was thinking of Myths, Heroes and Magic. lol. Jeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzz.....
From IMDB: Host Howie Long takes viewers on a tour of the "Star Wars" universe, as Fox TV celebrates the re-release of the original three legendary films in this one hour special.
I was wondering if anyone had the interview of George Lucas that was done by 60 minutes about Star Wars Episode 3 and the saga? It was released right before Episode 3 came out. If someone has it I would love to get it.

Would you mind uploading it to rapidshare or somewhere like that? It's completely up to you, but I never saw the whole thing and would like to have it for archival purposes.

There was a tv special made for promotional purposes back then. I tried to get this on ebay some time ago, but lost the auction: STAR TOURS TV SPECIAL-The original ABC special promiting the opening of the Disneyland attraction featuring Gil Gerrard and appearances by C3-P0 and R2-D2.
Could you perhaps upload this to Rapidshare or something
And by the way stuff that gets uploaded by a premium user on rapidshare stays there as long as that user pays/extends his/her account.
