Hello. Anyone know who the artist was who did the artworks for the Micro Machine playsets back in the ‘90s?? I used to collect those sets and part of what I used to love about them as well as the playsets themselves was the cool artwork done for the front of the packaging.
Additionally anyone have any of those artworks available as prints??? It’d be nice to see them without being cluttered with text and logos. Only ones I’ve found are these.
Actually I just looked into this a bit. They were actually, at least the ones above were, done by Ralph McQuarrie. That’s cool to know. I didnt know they had contracted him to do these as well. I’m a bit ashamed I didn’t recognize these as his work.
yup , and Mcquarrie’s signature is visible on each piece in the first post . I have the Hoth playset , found it at an antique store on my birthday a couple years ago . I also got the Joe Jhonston concept AT-AT micro machine at the same antique store over 10 years ago and have them both displayed on a shelf .
