This looks neato, is this a good price?

There are a few trailers, mostly prequel stuff, for much cheaper than this on ebay right now (for example, here’s a phantom menace trailer for $10 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAR-WARS-PHANTOM-MENACE-35mm-Trailer-FLAT-Used-Excellent-Condition-/130762411024?pt=US_Film&hash=item1e720c0c10#ht_500wt_1288).

I bought a few 5 frame film strips for super cheap, we’ll see how they turn out when they come 😃

I bought mine for $70 off eBay a few years ago and the guy had more than 10 of them. I wish I'd bought them all now.

I saw a u.s. sw trailer in the past year on ebay u.k. which started and ended at £70 (no bids) and it looked less scuffed up - it was a later re-release trailer

Yeah I thought that seemed pricey, I didn't know if that was a rare version or something.

I wonder where these things are coming from, how did he get more than 10?  I suppose if I had a minimum wage paying job as a projectionist back in the OT era, a copy of the film might have been "lost" during my tenure too...

Seeing as all the teaser trailers are on Eastman stock pre lpp, and are not rare, since many were made.  Depends on what its worth to you.

I think 50 dollars for a trailer in pretty good condition is a fair price.

Not sure if any of the  re-release trailers are LPP.

Cannot find out either because the last one posted was too much.

When they charge hundreds for a trailer it is pretty ridiculous.  I saw a complete 35mm scope print for jedi unfaded LPP sell for 400 dollars about a decade ago on some film site.

Possibly stolen not sure where people get these things.  He had the original jedi for that price but the 1997 special edition star wars for over 2 grand, lol.

The only auction i lost i really regret is the reel of Return of the Jedi in70mm that had the duel between Luke and Vader on the second death star.

Faded but not as severely as the empire prints i have seen.  Except the warpage made the audio and picture out of sync so pretty useless except as a curio.

Scope trailers of the original release or any of the original 3 films prior to 1997 are hard to find though.  Most trailers are flat and have a widescreen image reduced to fit the frame instead of the squeezed image.

Most illegal film cels from cut up prints are taken from trailers as well and not scope prints though some are.

The only licensed film cels i know of were the willets 70mm ones. Unless Lucasfilm licensed dealers to sale the 35mm cut up prints.

You wanna see pricey?  Check out this Revenge version of the Jedi teaser trailer

I watched one of these (looked like this one) on youtube, it's kind of neat because it has a glimpse of the deleted sand storm footage.  It'll be interesting to see if anyone bites at this price.  The one I mentioned in the first post has been relisted for $100 less.

Considering not long ago you could get a full print of the film by derann film services of super 8mm or an illegal 35mm scope print for less than that, doubt anyone would bid on that.

Less than a hundred dollars seems okay for the sw teaser if you want it on film, but you can watch that on the 2004 bonus disc in SD quality.

Still i would not pay a hundred unless it retains much of its color.  I would not pay hundreds never mind thousands of dollars for any Eastman pinking film on 35 even if it were legal in the states.   Eastman stock is crud.  Sure for trailers as a collectible or maybe even a print if you can somehow correct the color and get it transferred for posterity.  But to project as is, yuck.  Poor projector.

That Jedi 70mm real which was roughly 20 minutes of footage went for a hundred and 40 bucks.  Kind of steep but rare, nonetheless.

I thought it would be a steal and no one else would bid and i would get it for 40 bucks even, lol.
