This really deserves to get a full HD transfer :-) A pity that guy ships only to the US, I'd bid on it otherwise

I'm sure someone would act as a shipping middle man if you knew someone you could trust.

It won't stay that cheap...

Two words: Jabba Subtitles.

If we can get pictures of those scenes it would be great.

Your brain just makes s**t up!

A fate worse than death? Having your head digitally replaced with that of Hayden Christensen!

If we got it, I'd chip in on the shipping.

Hell, for a hundred bucks, I'll buy it but I sadly don't even have that much laying around these days. Anyone? This is about the same price as the new Blu Ray set is likely to be...

Indeed.  I would help as best I can as well.  Is this original or SE?

Has this been released yet? Somebody send me the links!

No really, what are we paying for here?
Send this thing to pittrek ?
But who's gonna scan it kid, you?

This thread might be for serious preservationists only!

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Based on the 20th Century Fox logo, I'd say original.

I'd definitely help if I could.  Best of luck to anyone who decides to bid.

Not gonna lie, I'd laugh so hard if we ended up bidding against -1.

Yeah I agree.  If we are to band together somehow and someone here wins it, the end result has gotta be for the film to be scanned and made available.

Yeah good call on the Fox logo.  Definitely the original version.  This has got to go to someone that cares, and wants to keep the 1983 print alive.  This is important, and I hope something good comes of it.  If it goes into a private collection and is not shared, George wins again.

Unfortunately, that is probably the fate of the two 35mm prints of Star Wars that have been listed in the past month.

Jaxxon tried for the second one, but got outbid literally at the last second. I think he's making a film collector voodoo doll now. ;)

It's sad to think of these prints never being seen by a large group of people ever again. If I was some rich film collector, I'd rent out a theater and have my own free screening. OT.com film festival!

16mm is probably our last best hope for completing the OT at this point though.

Where were you in '77?

Wow.  $762.  Worth every penny if the buyer has the equipment and shares it.  Yeah, right.

Yeah that seems a little more realistic. Still a good deal, IMO. I've seen prints that are red go for the same amount. Although I guess for our purposes scratching and dirt are the real problems, fading is only bad for projection but not for digital restoration.
