Sounds good-- more like Halloween IV than the released Halloween V. Look forward to it.

I've only watched the first four Halloween films and Resurrection (don't get me started on that one). Anyway, I've heard about the fifth film and the problems it has. I reckon I should watch this one first, yeah? Give you a first-time viewers opinion about the edit to see if anything sticks out?

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - PhineasBg Cut

This is the first release by Phineasbg and Oldbiff85 Fan Videos

What is it about? One year has passed since the events of Halloween 4. Michael Myers has returned to terrorize his hometown of Haddonfield, and his long-lost niece, Jamie Lloyd. Young Jamie, who has lost her ability to speak since attacking her foster mother, has developed a telepathic link with her uncle. The ever resourceful Dr. Sam Loomis has a plan to finally put an end to Michael's rage.

New film name: Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - PhineasBg Recut
Date Edit Was Released: MARCH 16TH 2007
Original Runtime: 96 min.
New Runtime: 90 min.

The goal was to make Halloween 5 more of a standalone film (while not overtly contradicting Thorn for fans of that storyline), while also making a few trims and repairs. Many fan complaints of the film are addressed and corrected now.

A quick summary of some of the edits:

1. The mysterious "Man in Black" is now completely gone from the film.

2. The shot of Loomis holding Jamie during the Halloween 4 recap at the beginning of this film is removed, as this contradicts the events of Halloween 4.

3. There is no longer a Thorn tattoo on Michael's wrist.

4. The "Clownish Cops" are no longer clownish, nor does silly clownish music play when they're around.

5. Billy, the annoying stuttering child, has been toned down, and he no longer stutters.

6. The Myers house was completely different from the house in Halloween 1. So I've replaced exterior shots of the house with stock shots of the house from Halloween 1. Some other shots are cropped to disguise that it's a different house.

7. When Loomis first visits the Myers house, I trimmed the parts where he looks at the laundry chute. I felt these portions are too "in your face" in setting up the chute later on in the film. I did leave in a brief moment where we see the chute door in the background. I felt this was subtle enough to set up the Jamie/chute scene later on.

8. During the "Cookie Woman" scene, we hear someone say into a radio "Sgt. Meeker, what's your 20?" I changed this to "Meeker, what's your 20?" A small nit, but it bugged me since Meeker's the Sheriff. Billy also doesn't "translate" for Jamie during this scene.

9. A few Tina moments are toned down to make her less annoying. Her "bomp-a-da" singing cut down, her "eekeekeek" after saying "I'm not sensible if I can help it." is gone, etc. I have Jamie's begging and crying "Don't go! Tina!" toned down as Tina's ignoring of her pleas hurts her character. Jamie still asks her to stay, but it's not as desperate.

10. Some moments from the supporting characters (such as Mikey and Spitz) are also toned down a bit to make them less annoying.

11. The barn scene has been tightened, including the overlong sex scene with Spitz.

12. When Michael is chasing Jamie with the car, some shots were flipped incorrectly, making it look as if Michael is on the wrong side of the car. I've reflipped these shots. I've also removed the expressions of smiling relief on Jamie's face when the car crashes, since Jamie would know better.

13. Michael no longer sheds a tear in the attic.

14. When Loomis beats Michael with a board, he doesn't keep ridiculously screaming "Die Die Die Die!" He now says "Die, Michael, Die!" once.

15. When Michael is in jail, he originally was wearing his mask. Since many fans felt this was unbelievable, I've digitally colored Michael's mask to fleshtone so it looks like he's not wearing his mask. The cell's bars blocking his face helps with the illusion.

16. Instead of the Man In Black shooting a machine gun and freeing Michael from jail, the scene has been recut to imply Michael broke free on his own.

Time needed for the edition: One month.

This sounds a great project. Especially removing the "clownish cops" stuff. I always hated that. Judging by the edits it's a lot better.

Done a cover... sort of. After my recent stint of reconstructing custom covers I've done a rework of someone else's custom. I think this cover looks great... but I did hardly any work. Have contacted the original creator of the cover to see if they mind me sharing this modified one. If they do then I'll create one from scratch (though that'll take a week or two).

Well, I wasn't hearing back from the guy, so I modified the cover extensively. It's now more of an "inspired by" type cover. So, while I don't deserve all the credit, I do believe I can post this without having to ask permission.

I just want to know if you (the two of you?) have a logo that I could stick on the back. Here's a preview:

You guys can do what you will with it: put it on the DVD-ROM section of the disc, upload it to FE, whatever. I'm just glad you like it.

HIGHLANDER II: The Quickening - Special Zeist Edition

This is the second release by Phineasbg and Oldbiff85 Fan Videos

What is it about?
Description: Sequel to 1986's Highlander, in which Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod, a member of the alien race known as "Immortals," banished to Earth from his home planet Zeist some 500 years ago. In the year 1999, Lambert owns a corporation that has created a shield to protect the Earth following the depletion of the ozone layer. But the shield is seized by an evil cartel, and Virginia Madsen plays a scientist who assists MacLeod in his mission to destroy the cartel. Sean Connery also reprises his role from Highlander as the Scottish Immortal named Ramirez.

About this version - This version includes the all new Special Edition FX including the new blue shield effects. The film is combination of the American version, Renegade Version and the Special Edtion - Included in this cut is the Special Edition/ Renegade sequence of events and restores the planet Zeist, the Prize, the Quickening, and other major references which had been cut out.

Notable addition:

The gun fight between McCloud and the guards at the shield corporation near the end of the film has been restored and color corrected. Why this particular sequence was taken out is bizarre. Now the flow of the movie is restored and not effected: Now we no longer just go from being on a mountain top looking down onto the shield straight into the shield core chamber where Macleod fights Katana. Anyone who may have not seen previous versions of this movie may have wondered ( by viewing the 2004 Special Edition) just how the hell they got back into the core chamber so easily in the first place.

J A W S 2 - The Original Television Edition

TAGLINE

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

ABOUT THIS FILM

"Jaws 2 - takes place four years after the horrid events in Amity, seen in the first film. Of course, like all movies, Jaws 2 went through the editing process and a lost a few scenes in the interest of time. In the 1980's it was common practice to add scenes left on the cutting room floor and often reinstated into television airings of the film to pad the running time and sell more ad space.

ABOUT THIS CUT

Edited from the theatrical cut of the film these scenes were re-added to this Network Television Version: This version adds a few scene that are not available on the now OOP Universal DVD deleted scenes section.

A few notable additions, some are included on the now OOP DVD.
ONE THING TO NOTE: These scenes have been edited from the television studio a common praxtice in the 80's.

-Ellen, adding wine to the fruit punch, and tells the waitress to smile and look cute.
-Brody, given Peterson a parking ticket because, he was parking at a "No Parking" zone. Peterson tries to talk Brody out of giving him the ticket, and a half-exasperated half-joking Brody tells Peterson to just "pay the two dollars."
-The Council argues about the incident at the beach.
-The Council goes into Mayor Vaughn's office to take a vote to fire Brody; Mayor Vaughn alone votes against Brody's firing.
-The shark attacks the helicopter pilot, after capsizing it underwater

WHY THIS RELEASE

I have been an avid collector of television airings and alternate version of feature films for years. This version you are about to see was one of the first television alternates that I ever captured.

DVD INFO

Original Title: Jaws 2
Running Time: 120 Mins
Static Menu - No Chapters

IMPROVEMENTS

This version has been cleaned and filtered, I have color corrected some scenes and stabalized others. I ripped this years ago so quality is standard VHS quality. We hope you enjoy

ONE OF THE BETTER SEQUELS OF ALL-TIME - SIT BACK AND PRETEND IT'S THE 1980'S AIRING ALL OVER AGAIN

HIGHLANDER II: The Quickening - The Restored Early European Version
AKA: The original 100 minute European theatrical lost version

WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Description: Sequel to 1986's Highlander, in which Christopher Lambert reprises his role as Connor MacLeod, a member of the alien race known as "Immortals," banished to Earth from his home planet Zeist some 500 years ago. In the year 1999, Lambert owns a corporation that has created a shield to protect the Earth following the depletion of the ozone layer. But the shield is seized by an evil cartel, and Virginia Madsen plays a scientist who assists MacLeod in his mission to destroy the cartel. Sean Connery also reprises his role from Highlander as the Scottish Immortal named Ramirez

FACTS ABOUT THIS VERSION:
A different version of HIGHLANDER II : THE QUICKENING appeared in Europe in or around 1990, the editing for this version was funded by Nigel Green of Entertainment Productions along with Panzer and Davis. This version had the input of the director and producers and is much truer to the original script. The film contains over ten minutes of additional footage which helps the story immensely (including what happened to Brenda, Conner's girlfriend from the first film) and the narrative is edited together much better than the American version. The (British) European version of HIGHLANDER II has only been seen in America on poor quality bootlegs and usually not in english so most fans are not aware of its existence.
By far the most interesting aspect of the (BV) European Version is the fact that it contains the original ending of HIGHLANDER II as it was found in the script. Bill Panzer said that he and Peter Davis had paid out of their own pockets at the time to shoot this ending. They did this because they believed so strongly in the ending but its reception by audiences was apparently less than overwhelming. The scene takes place on the beach after Conner has destroyed the Shield and the Shield Generator burns in the distance.

ABOUT THIS RELEASE:
This version is a restoration of the original European version of the film which was only scene briefly to European audiences.
Also included on the disc is a restored French trailer which was previously available on an OOP French DVD. The French trailer no longer has subtitles.

Some notable differences -

-Alternate Dialog
-Alternate Musical Cues
-Alternate Footage
-The Original Intended Ending

DVD EDITION DETAILS:
Running time: 100 Minutes
Aspect Ratio: 2.35 NTSC 16:9
Spoken languages: English
Subtitles: None
