Hey I have those games. Lots of fun. Empire & Jedi are hard, but I completed SW with only one life on the Jedi level!

Yep, those games were a bitch to play!

Oh the memories. I'm actually pretty sure I played the first one before I really even knew what SW was....but I was like 4 or 5 so i didn't care. I just jumpd and pressed buttons and died.

Well I guess I'm waiting 'till monday to get them :/

BUT!!!!! Me and a pal are going to have a Super Star Wars Trilogy day (on Thurs)!!!! With probably some Mario thrown in, but it's gonna be great all the same.

I could never beat even the first levels of the SSW's when I first tried them as a kid, now I should be able to do better.

The original game was murder to play, until I found out about that secret cave full of extra lives.
Has anybody thought of recording a runthrough of all three games for preservation purposes? I never was able to complete the final level of Jedi. Damn, that Death Star tunnel was hard!

Where were you in '77?

the real treasure about those games is that they're based off of the Original theatrical versions.

the games were hard. Personally, I always played them using the Debug codes that gave you invincability. however, I still found the 3D stages to be a little too hard, particularly the ones from ESB, because you couldn't change speed and the animation was too choppy.

being a Castlevania Fan, I liked the stage where Slave Leia Takes on Jabba the best as she controls like a Belmont! (complete with a "Whip")

JarHead, $27 USD shipped.

There are auctions going for these all the time of ebay, the first of the trilogy is often going for 99 cents or 2 bucks, but then shipping is always around $7, sometimes as low as $4 tho. The other two regularly cost a little more, tho still only by a few dollars. The reason for the cheapness is just because there are so many of them out there, and probably a dozen SW snes games going for sale at any one time on ebay.

Here's a SW snes trilogy with manuals, ending in 6 hours, currently only at $16: http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Trilogy-SNES-Lot-w-manuals-3-games_W0QQitemZ120123336602QQihZ002QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Here's a bundle of 46 snes games, all the SW ones included:http://cgi.ebay.com/46-snes-game-lot-best-lot-ever-includes-rare-games_W0QQitemZ200112143766QQihZ010QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The most I've seen is a bundle of something around 450 snes games going for about $400. The guy said he had been trying to collect them all... there are many large bundles that pop up for sale tho, I guess a lot of people have big collections.

My babies arrived today, and I beat one of them already. I intend to beat the others shortly as well.

The parting words from the first snes Star Wars are:
"Be careful because the empire might strike back! And remember, the force will be with you always!"

I think the reason why there are so many for sale is because it's pretty easy to play the games through emulation on the PC.
