^Yes, Luke said he'd meet them there, but he didn't say "I'm leaving right now. Race you there!" :p There's no reason not to believe that some time has passed and they all had things to take care of before they started their rescue mission, right? I don't see any continuity issues with having him be somewhere else before Tatooine.

Yes but remember lukes rendezvous point was tatooine so their is a continuity issue. Just have it begin with death star. Then luke flies to Dagobah then we can just get to the rest

That's just it - it's their rendezvous point.  He didn't say he was heading straight there - he meant "after I take care of some shit, we'll meet up on Tatooine."  No continuity error at all.

This was posted over on the Radical Prequel Redux thread but it deserves an airing here too as it is a relative simple ROTJ edit bolt-on (he already communicates to us via subtitles) which could add a certain something to the big guy:

Now that sounds threatening

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Obi pictures, on Tatooine,  are nice but I think that to make the job easier and more realistic, that scene should be at night. With only few light inside Obi's hut, to fit better with the characters.

Once again a really nice idea on paper, firstly because when Luke started his journey it was in the bright glow of a youth looking to the future with some optimism and now he's a seasoned and slightly broken older man looking to the future with understandable dread, and we haven't seen Ben's hut in the dark so it would look familiar but different.

But if mixing one scene to the location of another is hard enough try doing it when the location was never recorded lit for night, it would make an already difficult job almost impossible.

Though I will give it a try, naturally ;-)

Not as bad as I thought and I'm getting better at the shimmer (even if it has shaved the top of Ben's hairpiece off) maybe you experts out there can do it better?

Night Hut

Ben Night

I'm a little confused by this idea of having Luke return to Ben's home in ROTJ?

By the way, your digital compositing work looks great!

the reason for that is because luke found it a useful place to prepare for the rescue since they weren't gonna do it once they got there. i doubht they stayed in orbit for two or three days. plus luke had known, according to the novel, that obi-wan had old jedi instructions for making a lightsaber along with other force abilities.

And Monroville, your suggestion #3 is a great idea, either instead of or in addition to showing the "monster" coming to the surface under the sand.

Hah! I have an idea:

Take the idea of the sail barge collapsing into the sarlaac pit, then cut in the shot of the spice worm rising up from the sand in Dune and taking out that vehicle.

Take out the vehicle and replace it with a sail barge mockup.

There you go! :p

Hmmmm.....Empire + Dune = WOW

...I feel an epic idea-clip in the making :D

It's a little weird, and a bit jarring, but fun to watch I suppose. I don't think this one tops my 'Lando System?' video...but you can be the judge of that.

that is an awsome video! i like the idea actually and wouldn't mind if we kept it. have u guys heard about some fans want ewan mcgregor, sorry if its mispelled, to be the ghost obi-wan in the movies. imagine how that would look? no one can replace alec guiness and plus it wouldn't make any freakin' since!

Something i ve made for fun but can still be a proposition.

All i wanted to create is a little more interesting path that the heroes are taking, a more unique landscape and a reposition of the palace to be more impressive.

It's interesting and well done as always but it wouldnt fit in with what we saw in the Clone Wars movie.

It definately seems to have discontinuity in lighting (and the type of rock) from one half of the image to the other.

Adywan has got to do something about the super star destroyer crashing into the Death Star. It just blows up as soon as it touches the Death Star. It's so lame. Everything that gets touched in star wars has to blow up. It would be nice for once not to have that happen so bluntely. I think it would be cool to see the Super Star Destroyer bust through levels of the death star and see imperial troops run for their lives as the Star Destroyer bursts through the place. I think I saw some ideas to show the super star destroyer crash into an uncompleted section of the Death Star. I think that is cool too.

Does Adywan plan on using the eyebrowless Sebastian Shaw or the browed one?

Wouldn't it make logical sense to use no eyebrows? I mean, its not like his hair roots survived his injuries, so why keep the eyebrows? Unless his eyebrows had more "midichlorians" than his hair! HA!
