I think most people prefer original Fett's voice over Morrison's, so this is welcome choice. And also continuity will be kept.

Adywan, could you maybe share with us changes & fixes that you already know you are going to make in ESB and ROTJ? Nothing elaborate, just the things that pop up.

since when was a voice genetic? there is no reason Boba should sound anything like his father after 20+ years without his influence. There is no continuity error and no need for stupid explainations he just has a different voice. Plus the original voice sounds a lot better.

and personally I like the way he dies, there's nothing in the films to say he's 'the most amazing bounty hunter in the galaxy', he's just a bit better than the others or he got lucky.

I suppose if the clones are still 'educated' the same way at turbo speed to aulthood, they may learn the accent through this. If they are just grown up the normal way then their experiences, place of residence etc would change their accent dialect...

They way I see it, to resolve this and eliminate any issues with continuity:

1) Restore the original voice in the OT or use a new one.

2) Keep Morrisson's voice the same for all his scenes that he doesn't wear a helmet in the PT.

3) Change Jango Fett's voice in the PT when he is wearing his helmet to imply a voice scrambler device.

This would mean we know what Jango Fett sounds like, we know his helmet has a scrambler. We never see Boba's face in the OT so whether his voice should be the same as his 'father' is no longer an issue.

After seeing ady's edit two of the things that immediately come to mind that I'd love to see in EsB & RoTJ are as follows...

Yoda, Jabba and other creatures deserve the cantina treatment. (little added CG facial movements or alien antennas - whatever) Ady truly brought stiff rubber masks to life.

The sabers! (again the ady treatment is needed here badly)

There's no reason why Boba Fett needs to sound like his "father" Jango...

Not only are accents not genetic but even if you want to argue along lines of culture and so forth the change in voice could still be explained away by injury (Fett has surely been through a lot) or deliberate tinkering with his voice modulator to enhance his fearsome persona (if you want an example of this in Star Wars, we have only to look at Darth Vader... note the radical change in voice without the mask to with it).

That's because he always had eyebrows filling out his face until 2004. Now suddenly, with those eyebrows gone, and the sudden unnatural coloration of his skin (it was a fleshy pink, pale, but recognizable... now suddenly it's gray due to the bad color correction Lowry Digital/Lucasfilm did)... draws the viewers attention to the fact that his skin is wrinkly and creased and then all of a sudden perfectly smooth... almost as if... he has a piece of rubber over his scalp (aka a bald cap wig).

I never noticed it either until his eyebrows were removed. They distract the eye from the makeup.

I agree, but only minimaly, so it doesn't stand out.

As fot the Hayden or Shaw issue, I still would rather keep Hayden, but a completely different facial expression. Maybe with slightly shorter hair. I don't know, but something different.

I vote for no eyebrows but reworked forehead, so it looks more natural.

This was recorded by a voice actor with great success for my own Ep. II project. If Ady decides to do a different version than mine, he will have access to all of my recordings. But as it stands now, I believe that the Adywan project and the Starkiller project seem to be merging into one complete saga project (i.e., Starkiller will not do Ep. IV-VI because Ady has taken care of them, and vice-versa if Ady is happy with our PT, which includes SOTDS).

I think they really screwed up with Star Wars by cleaning up/sharpening the image TOO much, to the point where you're seeing things that were never intended to be seen, like actor's makeup and so on. I think that's part of it as well.

agreed. NOTHING in the movies indicates he is such a great bounty hunter. So he managed to capture Han Solo? Yeah, with the aid of a sith lord and a few dozen imperial troops. Even Greedo managed to find Solo....

if anything , as far as the movies go Boba wasn't much more than a glorified delivery boy in a cool outfit. Give the sarlaac/Audrey 2 some razor sharp teeth in it's beak and beef up Boba's death with some blood curdling screams and remove all doubt that he might have survived.

How about morphing together Shaw's and Christensen's faces into something that resembles both a younger Shaw and an older Christensen? How Anakin would have looked at that age, without the influence of the Dark Side.

I just watched ROTJ today and I thought of something else. The DS2 battle at the end needs some fixing. In the throne room I think the battle should be moved closer so that the ships are not just tiny blinking dots. Also the Super Star Destroyer needs a better end to it. It has such a lame crash.

You know, that does make sense. I think the battles would be closer than we saw. Probably a compromise because of the limits of FX back in 1982/83. Could be really painstaking to go in and roto in a bunch of spaceships in every shot, but it's Adywan we're talking about here!

I don't mind the new world music, but the choir of singing kids in the background really takes me out of the movie; that doesn't belong. On my original P&S VHS SE, the choir is very subtle - so, when I pop in the '04 DVD, it's a shocker to hear it so obvious. If we could take it out completely, that would be kind of cool - but just making it a little more subtle would be good too.

The things that stick out like a sore thumb to me (in addition to the obvious saber flaws) are that damned monochrome explosion in ESB when the asteroid hits the star destroyer, and there's a shot in the ROTJ space battle where the shot is tilting as ships are flying toward the camera, but there are some teeny background ships or something that are stationary and don't tilt along with everything else. It's the shot just before Lando says "Yes, I said closer. Engage those star destroyers at point blank range..."
And I've always wondered if they could have steadied the speeder bikes on Endor. They sometimes jiggle unnaturally in relation to the background.

As for Boba's voice, I think it should be changed back to the original. I really don't mind the new voice at all, it's just the half-assed factor. They needed to either leave it alone, or change Boba's voice AND all of the stormtroopers to fit with the PT. Don't stop halfway.

Then there's Hayden in ROTJ. That needs to be changed so that it's Jake Lloyd's 8 year-old head on Shaw's body. This will help connect episodes 1 and 6, and will demonstrate that Anakin's regained his childlike innocence after saving Luke
But seriously, the Anakin head transplant doesn't really bother me. He's a ghost, so I think he just appears as he sees himself. <Morpheus> It's what we call residual self image </Morpheus>
(although now that I mention it, Lloyd's head on there would look amusing. I'll have to photoshop that in when I get home)

I didnt know this thread already existed when I was working on my list. I will go back and read the entire thread.

Here are some ideas for Adywan's treatment of Episode V, The Empire Strikes back

1. Removal of entire Vader shuttle sequence, it ruins the timing of this sequence.
2. Reinstatment of original "Bring my shuttle" line.
3. Molten metal edges to lightsabers going through metal during Luke/Vader fight
4. On-screen de-ignition of Vader's Saber after end of fight.
5. Enhancment of de-ignition sound of Vader's saber at end of fight.
6. On-screen de-ignition of Luke's Saber when he follows Vader off of the Carbon Freezing platform.
7. Fixing Stromtrooper's fallen Shoulder pad in Han being carbon froze sequence
8. Removal of Han's bicep cuffs as they are not in Return of the Jedi
9. Clouds needed in shot of Lando and Luke re-entering Falcon from under Cloud City
10. SE shot of Falcon approaching platform 327 looks "wrong" somehow. The Falcon looks flat or something, I cant explain, the shot just bugs me. I dont want this removed as I love all the new Bespin exteriors but the Falcon needs fixed.
11. fixing Saber colors, Thier widths are fine but Vader's seems to be almost pink in some shots in the SE DVDs.
12. Fix timing of sound, perhaps adding on-screen de-ignition of Saber as Luke exits Wampa cave.
13. It would be nice if the AT-AT could squash the Snow speeder a little flatter, don't know how feasible that is.
14. More life-like Taun-Tauns ala Cantina alien edits
15. Reinstatment of "You're lucky you dont taste very good." instead of keeping different "You were luck to get out of there" line
16. Reinstatment of original announcement of "The first transport is away."
17. Reinstatment of original sound effect when Lando releases the Mic that lets him address cloud city and inform the people that the Empire has taken over. It's a small thing but I preferred the original.

Possible additions, wishful thinking.

1. More At-ATs Snow speeders in background of battle. Perhaps another snowspeeder can do the leg thing after Luke's success in the background? Perhaps add some probe droids, speder bikes and AT-STs. Strafing runs of retreating rebels at end of battleby tie-fighters isn't out of the realm of possibility.
2. More tiefighters in asteroid chase? Plenty of rocks for them to run into.
3. Perhaps the Falcon could fire at these ties. Those turrets can be controlled from the cockpit, just not as well as having someone actually in the turret. Besides we don't see the Falcon fire those things at all in Empire.
4. Maybe a couple more ships protecting the transports departure? Maybe some ties could race out to great them and be destroyed in a brief exchange of fire as the transport gets past the Star Destroyer?
5. All new shots in the Asteroid chase? Dont know how hard rocks are to do in 3d software. However Id want the musical cues in this scene retained which means you'd have to delete stuff to insert new...nevermind.
6. Perhaps a MUCH LARGER fleet could arrive at Hoth and have the planet surrounded, this would explain why the transports go straight at a Star Destroyer instead of taking another direction.
7. Do something to address the fact that Luke gets off the planet without seeing a single Imperial ship, let alone engaging one.
8. Luke having a vision of Leia and Han during Dagobah similar to Anakin’s visions in RotS

Well thers my initial thoughts, Now I think Ill do one for Jedi

Add to that list the reinstatement of Vader's: BAAAAAHHHHH! As Luke forces him off the carbon freezing platform. I never understood why Burtt went back and replaced it with audio which is clearly from Hamill... it's Vader falling off the platform, not Luke.

In fact it almost sounds like he re-used Luke's earlier line: "Hand!" when Luke was calling his saber to his hand during their duel... that switch still bugs me.

Oh, and let me add one other change to the list. In the SE I actually liked the add of Vader's shuttle going to the Executor. From a dramatic storytelling aspect it adds suspense by cutting away in the middle of the action of the chase.... THE PROBLEM is that the music tracking is HORRIBLE and doesn't flow at all. If you could find a way to make it work musically it would be great.

In my opinion, it is what Luke sees, so they should appear as Luke expects to see.
Leia looks at the same spot, but sees nothing. Luke expects to see a 45-year old healthy man and that is what I think the audience should also see. Sebastian Shaw was 76 years old.

If Christensen is in there, then for consistency's sake, Alec Guiness and Yoda should be exchanged for Ewan McGregor and a tadpole.

When Fett is first introduced, Vader is adressing the bounty hunters, but makes a specific point of reminding Fett there are to be "no disintegrations." This makes Fett bad-ass in that he is the only one adressed individually by Vader. It implies that either Fett is notorious for disintegrating people in general, or there has been some kind of specific incident that Vader is reffering to... perhaps Fett has hunted someone down for the Empire or Vader at some point in the past, but disintegrated them? If that's the case, then why was he not only allowed to live, but called back for a new job? He must be bringing something to the table.

Then, when the Falcon disappears, Fett is the only one who figures out where it went. He arranges to have Slave One jettisoned with the garbage, and then somehow deduces that Han will head for Bespin. When Vader et all turn up at Cloud City, it's because Fett must've known about the Han/Lando connection.

In the carbon freezing chamber, Fett has the cajones to challenge Vader on his decision to freeze Han. Vader's response is to promise Fett money, instead of simply force-strangling him like he tends to do to other people who piss him off. Vader obviously either has some degree of respect for him, or at least sees him as too useful to kill.

Lastly Fett gets off the first few shots in his firefight with Luke, keeping him pinned down and escaping.

The guy's clearly a badass. Unless you bump his jet pack with a stick.

can't you shut that chicken up?
