Essentially, yes. This is where Cantonese sometimes doesn't translate well to English. I debated this and my Canto speaking friend said use the line twice or he can also say something like, "do I bow down to you" etc.

If I am reading this right there will be an English dub for The Killer, will there be one, or is there one for Hard Boiled? damn I hope so, I hate reading movies lol.

So does anyone know if there is an English dub for Hard Boiled?

Yup. There is. I have it on my PAL VHS copy.

It is atrocious.

I ask a favor if its o.k, If you could upload or help upload/seed this as a torrent or share links from your own seed box/online storage and spread it far and wide that would be awesome. Not got the experience or time to keep seeding ect as I have to move around and use my computer for work so internet connection and constant seeding are not possible.

Could somebody please send me a link or file? Would be much appreciated. Thank you to all who have helped and contributed, plus who continue in their efforts to make this as beautiful as a release as possible. Love The Killer and want the absolute best for it. Again much thanks to everybody here.

The Killer is not finished yet. I supplyed an early unfinished version as an mkv to all who had helped with the project as I was/am on a big project for work and will not be working on it for a while.

Recently had a quick look at cleaning up the Hong Kong blu-ray version, as its the highest resolution scan at the proper frame rate available, but boy is it a terrible transfer! I mean real bad. Ive gone back to the German EMS DVD.

Its available on the criterion edition and on the english variations also available  remixed to 5.1.

Will make it available on the ultimate version Im putting together, but it will be sometime yet. Still have to finish The Killer.

are you sure? on my cc laserdisc is no english audio and according to dvdcompare there is no english dub on it either.

nevermind, for some reason i've read the killer and not hard boiled. i have the fox lorber dvd and could provide the english dub if needed.

why put the criterion logo on it? criterion would never touch the 5.1 upmix. if they ever would return for hard boiled, we probably would get the japanese video with proper color correction and a lossless cantonese mono audio track.

here is a comparison of the japanese vs the german blu-ray.

in terms of detail the jap is a clear winner. but the picture is too bright. the german release wins in this regard.

Like I said, without designing my own, this is the quickest I could do.

I will be designing my own with the help of a creator which will look different.

This was just a place holder for me and to help guys have something to put on their disc. It's not that serious :)

My re-authored Hard Boiled fixes the brightness issue. It pretty much fixes everything.

matt, the seed at the bay is also color-corrected or only with your synced criterion-ld audio and subtitles?

I think I have answered this many many times so I will say it again and try to be very clear.  :) 

The one on Piratebey is my FINAL VERSION. It has the contrast and brightness fixes, the original restored audio properly synced and the new subtitles. 

There is a version on a private torrent site that is the Japanese RAW. The site mods refused to allow me to share my version. Flat out refused and no matter how many people begged them to allow it, they just said no. Hence my posting it publicly on piratebey. It downloads non-stop. Never quits. Lord knows how many times it has been downloaded and shared, which makes me happy.

I just wanted to chime in and say great work on the blu-ray. I'm watching it now and it looks and sounds great.
