I'll certainly be having a look when the new disc turns up (I've got that pretty steelbook version on pre-order) - presumably it's too much to ask for equivalent duration/frame count?

I don't think the frame count should be TOO different. The Mono mix presented here just might need adjusted at the beginning, but that should be it.
At worse there are a couple frames added at each reel change, but even that should be relatively easy to adjust for.
What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.
Is the mono audio file still available? I have the US digibook and would really like to compare. Thanks.
I would also like to get my hands on this.
I would love to get this as well. I am not sure I can do the remuxing...
If anyone is willing to aid my noob butt I would appreciate it.
(Yes I am one of the ones that thought it was the full upload. My apologies DJ).
INTERESTED!
Please tell me you're still willing to share the Laserdisc PCM audio.
It means I can throw away my VHS I've had all these years. Don't even have a VCR anymore.
:(

I've reuploaded the Laserdisc audio if you're after it. Just drop off a PM.

There is a new remaster of this just coming out on bluray in the UK and Europe but unfortunately without the mono soundtrack.
Would be cool if someone put the mono soundtrack over this new video
Comparison between the Lowry remaster (2012 UK Blu-ray) and U.S. Blu-ray:

I could live without the mono soundtrack, if the new one didn't replace sound effects.
New transfer looks good though, but has some teal here and there. (and in this case I DO think it looks slightly worse with those colors)
Could Someone Please send me the link for te LD PCM track??? I have been desperately looking for it for years!
THANKS!

That 2nd shot. The bluuuuue. :(
Modernized color pallet or not this looks unbelievably better than the current blu. That's a bit heavy on the reds, and certainly doesn't have the grain structure that this new one does.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
My steelbook turned up today, 5.1 mix still intact :( anyone have the LD audio? my Laser is MIA
Any idea if the uploaded LD soundtrack will sync up with the new BD as is?
Can someone please send me a link to the original mono pcm? Thanks in advance!

No, the new MGM logo means it requires some editing and is proving to be a pain so far, I have managed to get most of the teal out but the audio is a pain to sync.
If you are trying yourself start from the Orion logo
New MGM logo? Didn't know that. But as long as the new remaster isn't somehow a bit faster or slower than the 2006 version, it shouldn't be too hard to sync up. If no-one does this by the time I get it and sync it up myself, I'll reupload it.

MGM have a new 2012 logo that is longer than the regular, there is a lot of drift so far I have it lined up and it drifts later I need to fix that
I look forward to a correctly color-timed film with LD audio. I'm sure an MKV will show up one of these days....
Sample with correct color timing here using the new remastered blu, looks incredible!

I would also like the mono if somebody manage to sync it up with the new video UK release. Thanks in advance for all hard work whoever doing it!
Bravo

I got the teal out also and it looks great, I cannot sort the audio tho
A friend of mine and I are going to give it a go. Hopefully we can nail it. I know it's going to be tough.
Would it be possible to make some sort of automated script so people can do this if they rip the blu-ray themselves?
fixing the teal I mean.
Needs top men, I am encoding the video corrected now in 1080p 24
28.23GB so not to lose quality but I have hand corrected it and am at a loss with the audio I think the experts here need to chime in.
