Right, I do not want to get anyone's hopes up but I may have found 2+3

Stay tuned it is looking like a slow download!

Looks like 3 was the HDNet movies version, so just as grainless and badly interpolated.

2 is on the way

If you are talking about the ruTracker ones they aren't very good in  term of quality, both are from HDnet movies...

“English, motherf***er! Do you speak it!?”

3 was rutracker 2 is a nzb but loos to be the same size as the ru version give or take.

But thought it was worth a go

Does anybody know if there is a major difference between the WOWOW and Canal+ versions?

Like an higher bitrate or something...

Wowow would broadcast in a higher bitrate, but that may not translate into an encode.

The wowow would also be missing the dog

Sorry but i don't get that part. What do you mean by dog?

I thought the WOWOW version had burnt-in foregin subs and was available in a more compressed format but no logo. I could be wrong.

Otherwise, the WOWOW would be the best source to remove the logo from the Canal+ version, since that's just as DVNR and EE-free.

This dude said: " Don't have the Canal+ cap to hand, but the WOWOW airing is the same "old" transfer and is a higher bitrate anyway."

Hm. I must have mixed up it with something else. No burnt-in subs either?

Wowow stuff always has subs but with this being 1.75:1 the subs are in picture

At least I got that one right. The Canal+ version is still the best version then. WOWOW would be good for removing the logo though*.

(*Not that the logo would be distracting on the Canal+. It isn't. It's quite moderate. But since this a preservation forum, we're just talking about what would be the achievable from the present materials.)

What's wrong with the Russian H.264 capture?

The 20gb  ish one on rutracker? they are from Hdnet and have the DNR and are badly interpolated

Author

I don't think there is DNR on the HDnet versions. But they are badly compressed.

Mike: interpolated?

I can grab the source for II and III but I is long gone it seems. They are 18Mbps MPEG-2 from 2006.

Can someone post the checksum of the (joined) .MKV file of the Canal+ version? Just to know the file is intact or not.

It can be displayed with HJSplit.

Here's one: F314711CD228BFBCF3A1AEF2EA085012

Since he talked about a 18mbps bitrate, i suppose it's the WOWOW version.

I'd love to get these me too.

I'd rather not have WOWOW if it has burnt in Japanese subtitles throughout.
