Seeing as you've been here almost a decade, check your pm. :)
The 2k dcp is fine, that on a disc is enough.
Not everything needs a 4k master, especially a universal one
kk650's color-adjusted DCP synced with laserdisc audio is quite good. Finally I get to hear the original line reading of "Marty, you made it!" again.
I suppose the DCP from myspleen is not kk650's color corrected one?

no i think he just did it recently
KK650's is available in the usual place for his work, definitely worth getting.
Are their actually any decent HDTV's of II or III? I remember getting one of III a while back and it was worse than the blu-ray - plus it had a logo in the corner throughout...

If that's the case when do think that would come out?
October 2015 would be a smart move, but I haven't heard anything about this.
I know about the upcoming release coming out in october. i meant a 4k mastered no dnr and no edge enhacement release. from what i heard this release is a repackaging of the 25th anniversary transfers so boo to universal home entertainment.
PS: just caught BTTF on our German cable TV channel (TNT Film HD) and I noticed that the end credits (what was left of them) were in the correct AR, as opposed to the BD.
Yes, TV channels generally have the non-DNR version of the film.
“English, motherf***er! Do you speak it!?”
Being you all mention the trilogy's 30th anniversary:
http://www.amazon.com/Future-Anniversary-Trilogy-Blu-ray-DIGITAL/dp/B011Q0FSC2/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1437361371&sr=1-2&keywords=back+to+the+future+30th+anniversary
Here's hoping this new hog wild "30th-Anniversary-Special-Ultimate-Collectors-Premere-Moneywhore-Grabbing" edition of the BBTF trilogy will have transfers of the films without the DNR and processing passes, but who knows. Regardless, BTTF: The Animated Series may make this more worth getting since (despite its wonky drawings and such) it hasn't seen the light of day at all outside of mid 90s TV airings and VHS bootlegs.
BTW ilovewaterslides, I really like your avatar! I guess you're a company logo connoisseur like I am. Not going completely OT, just a complement!
The animated BTFF was released on VHS and even Laserdisc in the 90's.

And perhaps DVD in some country? I believe a myspleen member was going through the process of syncing the English audio to some DVD. They finished Season 1 and part of 2 before apparently calling it quits.
Still hoping that someday someone will budge and release a Stoltz cut. Or at least a scene or clips with audio.

Stoltz clips have been released, they're on the BD extras.
Interesting article on why more of it hasn't been released:
Youtube has clips, just search 'stoltz back to the future'.
Yeah. Made sure to clarify 'with audio' for that reason. I do have the blurays (and it looks like I won't be buying the next ones if there's no new transfer).
I've certainly heard them state the reason a number of times. It was a bummer for Eric and they don't want to upset him yet again. It makes sense, I'm just saying it'll still be a wish of mine to see/hear him in the role. The quotes from Gale usually just assume that Eric wouldn't want them out, but I've never heard him speak about it himself. Who knows. Maybe he'd actually say he's over it and would like to see the footage and it's been 30 years so no worries. :) [/wishfulthinking]

Oops, sorry about that. :( I haven't watched those clips in a LONG time; I completely forgot that they don't have audio.

Did they release the whole series or in "Volumes" in the U.S that were never finished due to low sales? Never seen the VHS, nor LD releases anywhere unless they were PAL only, or are these U.S releases so obscure amongst BTTF fans that they'd cost more to own than a mid range laserdisc player. I did however, hear it received a R2 German or Polish DVD release with dubbed audio only, but even those are scarce for some reason.

Curious question was batman and superman 90s on laserdisc as well?
Just things like the Superman/Batman "movie" and the other one about Mr. Freeze. Some collections of Batman TAS episodes were released overseas, but not in the states for some odd reason.
Mask of the Phantasm being a theatrical release, it got a nice double disc CAV edition.

I learn something everyday :)
Well, I have good news. Still trying to get all the details but some of us might have found a 35mm print of BTTF to rent and have scanned. I’m posting this here to see if there is enough interest and money (more importantly money) to get this scanned. Probably all in it would be $900, maybe more, maybe less. So its not cheap but frankly its a very rare opportunity.
If anyone thinks the can donate please let me know

The animated series will be released in Germany on DVD by Turbine, in October 2015. They are also planning some bonus material.

Wow! This is fantastic news!
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!
